Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing much to complain about. Not modern but that adds to the charm. Could do with a bottle of water in the room.
Lovely quiet hotel in a converted convent on the edge of the old town. Everything within easy walking distance. We had a huge, light and airy room overlooking the square. Very comfortable beds and big bathroom. Loads of storage space. Clean. Reasonable breakfast included in our room rate but not value for money if bought separately. About 20 minutes flat walking to the train and bus stations. Good value for money.

CanadaThe booking showed a bath tub as if that were normal but I was given a shower room and had to ask for a tub, which was given as they had the room available.
Phenomenal place to stay. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again.

United KingdomLovely hotel within the centre of the old town and overlooking a picturesque square. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Building well looked after and very clean. Very quiet at night as just far enough away from the busier areas. Parking in an enclosed area to the rear of the hotel. Room basic, but very spacious and clean. Bathroom also quite spacious and again very clean. Didn’t have breakfast as a little pricey, and no hot options, but knew this when booking. Leon is a lovely old city and easy walking within and beyond the old town. Lots of bars and restaurants starting only a few minutes away. Leon is a university city and is very lively in the evenings with lots of young people creating a nice atmosphere.

United KingdomRestaurant is not open every night and when it does it’s not open until 9pm. Minor gripe though.
Wonderful location, perfect for a couple of rest days on the Camino de Santiago. Spacious rooms, views over the plaza, quiet and peaceful.

United KingdomWe had a lovely large modern room over looking the pretty square at the front of the hotel. Staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was fine with a good selection of local cakes/pastries as well as cheeses, hams, tortilla and a fruit bowl, though there was no hot selection and only flakes available for cereal.

United KingdomNothing at all to dislike
A really lovely hotel, we had a very comfortable standard room that looked out over a pretty square with a couple of bar/restaurants. Brilliant location, just a few minutes walk from the Plaza Mayor and all the sights of the old town. Great to have the option of parking on site. If you're driving, then it's worth reading the instructions the hotel send you carefully, and perhaps having a look at Street View on Google maps, so you know what to look out for. When you arrive, the car park entrance is on the right, about 50 metres before the hotel entrance. Miss it - as we did - and you'll just need to reverse back to it! Leon is a wonderful, compact city, perfect for exploring on foot. Can highly recommend the tourist train as a way of orienting yourself. Will definitely return for a longer stay.

Love this place! Was there about 8 yeara ago so I expected it to be wonderful again. They topped the experience though with an incredible renovation and extremely helpful staff. The cloistered sisters in the chapel that is part of this monastery setting, continue to welcome visitors to their services with open arms, hearts and voices. Thank you!

Excellent thru and thru. Quiet, clean, classy and perfect in every way. Well worth the cost because it is made to serve the travelers needs in a familial and dignified way. At 7 pm every night you can celebrate the Vespers observed by the Benedictine Sisters in the adjacent chapel. Close your eyes as they sing and you will be moved by the approach to diety.

My favourite stay on camino. Wonderful historical building with superb location ( we had a double room overlooking a quiet square - atmospheric location with easy access to main sites). Woman on afternoon/ morning reception was lovely and v. helpful. Relatively easy access to camino ( walk out of Leon is horrible - you might want to take bus to outer suburbs....)
