Noise from the Street below when windows were open. Windows closed solved most of the problem.

Lovely place to stay in Leon with great recommendations for first time visitors. Great to have a shower in the room and no issue with the shared toilet.

Great location. Convenient both to the Camino and the city center. The rooms were comfortable as were the beds. And our host was fantastic! He spoke excellent English and was very helpful. He even texted us a wealth of information about the city. A great value for the money.

The room was small - but at the very reasonable price I paid that was only to be expected - but it was clean, comfortable and had is own shower, and all this just a stone's throw from the city centre. The welcome and help provided by the host Ananda was exceptional.

We really liked Hostal Alvarez! Especially, the communication with Ananda was very good! He gave us some really nice tips to go to in town and had a safe space for our bicycles. The room is spacious and clean. Also the location is hard to beat, between a nice local neighborhood and the old town! Will definitely come back to León and stay here again! Muchas gracias!

The shared toilet - the nextdoor neighbor smelt like a dead cat so after he used the toilet, it smelt the same. The noise coming from the street at night from partying people. For the money you pay, you can't complain too much, though.

The receptionist is an exceptionally friendly and helpful dude. The location is awesome.

Our host was amazing! So much useful information both before arrival and upon arrival. A small room but perfect for a good night's sleep. Ananda had somewhere safe for our two bikes and helped us with our luggage. He was lovely. Thank you.

The bed sheets had few little stains and a little bit of hair on them.

I really liked the information provided at the check-in plus the map of León with circled main places to see. The staff was also really nice. Nice colorful rooms with paintings and uplifting atmosphere.

Cute room, sink in room. Close but not in historic district, so it was quiet on festival nights. Near several nice restaurants. Exceptional hosts

The showers were in the bedrooms which we found fine as a couple, but may be difficult for friends or others travelling together as there isn’t much privacy. However overall it’s a great stopover and we would stay again.

The hostel staff were lovely - upon arrival they gave us tips of places to see during our stay in addition to recommendations for restaurants and bars! The beds were very comfortable and the hostel was in a very good location.

Nowhere to hang the towels. That that is about the only negative should tell you a lot about the place.

Very comfortable and clean room. The shower was warm and had good pressure, though looked a little strange being next to the bed. Shared toilet was kept clean. Annando was very friendly and helpful in advance communication and at check-in. The hostel is located centrally 10 minutes from the station and 5 from the historic centre of Leon but was very quiet at night. Good value for money

What made this Hostal exceptional was the service. Rosalia and her son run a fantastic little hostel very close to the old city. The son in particular (sorry I can’t remember his name!) was so kind and sent me a bunch of restaurant recommendations and added points of interest on a map of León and overall went above and beyond to extend a warm stay.
