Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe lady who was at reception upon our arrival was quite unfriendly (the lady next morning was much friendlier!), not just to us, but also to other guests at the door while we were standing there. She was unable to give us basic directions when we phoned and did not seem to be aware of the roadblocks all around the hotel. Also her English was not as such that she could understand basic questions, it seemed. Furthermore, one of the reasons for us to book the hotel was that we got the impression that we could have dinner in the courtyard. Strangely enough the restaurant turned out to be closed from Monday through Wednesday, which was quite disappointing. It was quite hard to find a proper place to eat the first night. Breakfast did not have any warm options until the day we left and then the scrambled edges were sweetener (!).
The history of the hotel and the wonderful interior made us feel we stepped into the wonderful ancient history of Toledo. The rooms were wonderfully large and one of them offered a great view over the towers of Toledo. Breakfast offered lots of choice. Toledo’s attractions were nearby. The pool was OK, although small.

United KingdomGetting our cases up to reception was difficult: they need to be lifted over the threshold and rolled quite some distance over uneven surfaces. Had we known we would not have booked this hotel as we are of an age to need things to be easier to manage.
Beautiful building, a very characterful hacienda with a gorgeous garden which had plenty of seating areas. Good situation for swimming pool. Very helpful staff at reception and good English spoken in dining room. Good breakfast. Good to have designated spaces outside hotel to park and drop luggage before going to nearby public parking.

SpainThe location waa excellent and the setting was beautiful. This hotel has an historic feel and charm which is a perfect combination when exploring Toledo. Staff were mostly really friendly. Angelica on reception was exceptionally helpful and delightful. We ate in the restaurant and it was lovely. We would highly recommend it. We keep going back, so it must be good.

United KingdomThe swimming pool is tiny, too small to swim in although it was a nice place to cool off in with the air temperature at 39 degrees. One odd feature is that to get fresh orange juice at breakfast one must cut in half the oranges and then use a squeezer that you might have at home. With so many guests, this was a slow and messy procedure.
We found this to be a charming and unusual hotel with some attractive Mudejar features. It has a pretty Moorish style garden/patio with a tavern which serves good food. The staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and the bathroom has an excellent shower. We chose it for its location and found we could dispense with our car as we could walk everywhere in the city.

United KingdomStaying during COVID restrictions never put this hotel in a good place. It was scruffy and filthy around the terraces and gardens. It seemed short staffed and the rooms were cleaned to a poor standard.

United StatesIt became clear that the place was performing monetary cutbacks. The staffing was minimal. The breakfast disappointing. They did not refill many food items when they ran out, even though many people were still waiting for food.
The place was lovely charming and historic. It was near the escalator to the city of Toledo.

United StatesOnly downside was not many choices in the restaurant for vegetarians and the one fish dish on the menu for those willing to stretch to pescatarian was not being offered that night.
We had a wonderful room near the Arabic pool (which wasn't open at this time or year) so we could listen to a small fountain in bubbling in the pool and we enjoyed hearing the water sounds though our open window. Room was very comfortable and there was a large, cozy common area with plenty of seating just outside our door. Restaurant was beautiful and food was quite good.
