Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing, everything was fine. Kind of expensive compared to other occasion I have stayed with them, but it's understandable as is was Holy Week, and the price increase was expected by me

United KingdomBreakfast we had to pay for even though it was included in my booking and was poor quality. The rooms were not well insulated and you could hear everything from other parts of the hotel. No English channels on the TV even though they state they have them.
Location was great, rooms were big, comfy beds and good showers.

United KingdomWould not stay any longer than one night, rooms very small and one did not even have a window!! Bombarded with messages from Hotel insisting check-in online - system didn't work, took hours, eventually managed to complete, then Hotel kept sending repeat duplicate messages still asking me to check-in online when I had already done it. Actually got an email from the Hotel asking me to complete check-in 3 hours after my stay when I had already checked out!! Access to Hotel and rooms controlled by Code numbers to reduce staff. Numbers hidden in a 3 page message from Hotel. Took a while to find. Hotel offered breakfast at €8 per person. The area for this was in the basement and very unappealing - a tiny area that looked a bit grubby. Did not bother. Got excellent coffee and tostada in the bar next door for half the price.
Very central location, close to lots of shops, bars, restaurants and historic tourist places. Good for a one night stay. Staff allowed us access to rooms 1 hour earlier than expected.

United KingdomWould have preferred a room on the plaza rather than in the “patio” but so little time is spent in the room it hardly mattered. Location, location, location and value for money!
Location was fabulous - in the old town, taxis, busses in the square. Walking distance to everything and literally dozens of restaurants within 10 minutes. Shopping galore round the corner. Wasn’t sure about the fact that there are no reception staff and self checkin was done by separate keypad codes to front door and room but it was good. There was an issue with the lift but it was dealt with really promptly.

SingaporeGetting access to a staff for questions was a little difficult.
The self check in and passcodes for the hotel and room was useful. Location was alright as well, being right next to Aldi Supermarket and about 10 minutes walk from Plaza Nueva.

United KingdomStaff reportedly available 10am-5pm but didn't see a single human being over four days, just intercom communication. Left luggage in ground floor room while we waited for room access and they door was unlocked when we came back, but our luggage was still there at least! TV wasn't great, but I didn't care and wife eventually got working while I was out.
Location is great for walking to all the major sights and even those a little further afield, like Real Betis' stadium, and you'll find loads of places to eat and drink. Room was clean and tidy, and beds comfy.

FranceI always choose a city hotel close to a car park when I’m travelling and Hotel Duquesa fitted the bill perfectly – less than a minute to drag my case from the car park under Plaza de la Concordia. I wasn’t very happy that the hotel was not staffed and that entry into the hotel and the room was via keypad codes but it worked very well; and (September 2021) it was a really good deal. The hotel is located in the bustling Plaza del Duque. There is a superb café/restaurant right next door and is less than less than 100 metres from the main shopping area on Calle O’Donnell. It is north of the city’s must-see tourist sites – Cathedral, Real Alcázar, Plaza de España etc. but any walk around Sevilla should take in its many plazas en route to these attractions so I found the location very acceptable. One thing about Seville though is that, no matter how well you think you remember where your hotel is, you will always get lost. This is my third visit to the city so take my word for it. One more thing……. I must remember to make a note to check the car park tariffs carefully next time I am in Seville. My stay from early evening on Sunday to midday on Tuesday cost 64€.
