Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaThe rooms itself were clean and neat, but you could see that it is an older hostel. On our 2nd day, the sink leaked which made a mess on the floor. Still the staff fixed it immediately after we reported it. The hostel is located in a very busy street. The traffic noise level is quite high. Sleeping with open window is impossible, but the windows where well insulated which made it still fine for us to sleep with closed windows. Aircondition worked Staff speaks only spanish, but it is always possible to comunicate somehow.
Hostel was really in the center of Granada - perfect for parties, foodies and touris for the main attractions. All within very short walking distance. Hostel had a really nice hall, a very friendly staff (we had some extra wishes for the check in) and was always there when needed. Very good for the price! Daily cleaning service was perfect!

ItalyThe bar under my room, very noisy. You could hear them since 6am. I wasn't lucky with the room, there are other rooms not facing the street and no so closed to the bar.
Staff very kind. Big room. Confortable bed. Nice shower. Good speed for internet. Easy to walk to the center. Bus to the bus station.

CanadaThe room is quite small and the hallways leading to it are quite narrow. The metal window blind cuts off any view. The first night we felt a bit claustrophobic. We joked that it was a bit like the guy on Netflix that visits prisons around the world - our room felt like a small prison cell at first. But at the end of three days we had gotten used to the room and kind of liked the place. We appreciated the chance to stay in Granada at the right price in our own room with helpful staff.
Great location - we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see. Liked the restaurant downstairs for breakfast and coffee - good local place. In the room bed was comfy - aircon and shower worked just fine - tile floor and walls beautiful and in good shape. There were several electric plugs and a small desk - enough for our needs. Front desk always had someone there to help out when needed. Front desk called a taxi for us on request. The main thing is that we got our own bathroom in a private room in a good location at a price we wanted.

GermanyThe facilities are quite old — even neighbours locking and unlocking their door handles was somewhat disruptive. The walls are so thin that when I heard a phone alarm in the next room, I thought it was mine. No lamps in our room and the overhead florescent lighting was quite harsh.
Good location in Granada and the room had everything we needed. Very clean. Most staff were very friendly. 12:00 check-out time was helpful.

BelgiumThe 2 things that I didn't like were 1) the lack of parking space in the neighborhood. Later when I went walking a round I did see an entrance to an underground parking, but I could not tell if it was a public one, or only for residents. 2) the walls are rather thin, which meant the if someone in a neighboring room had the TV loud, or talked loadly, or flushed the toilet or took a shower, the noise could be heard.
The location was in near the center of the city, with lots of bars, restaurant etc. nearby. Both receptionists were very friendly and helpful. The beds were very good and the bathroom was squeeky clean like it should.

United KingdomShower curtain meant water leaked out of the shower, but this would have caused them a problem rather than us.

United KingdomThe air-conditioning has a bad odour when turned on, which was really unpleasant. We went during summer and have to turn off and bear the heat. There’s coffee machine and shared kettle but only plastic cups available, which is not suitable for hot water. would suggest putting paper cups instead.
smooth check-in and friendly reception with good english.
