How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Bathroom was seperate. It was a private bathroom but I had to use a key to come in and to lock it so that I have privacy.

The mattress was a bit hard and the room space was cramped compared to the wide-angle pictures on the website.

No complaints. It was what we were expecting.
Small guesthouse on the upper floor of a building in the tiny town. Woman at front desk was helpful. Room was clean. The guesthouse does not serve breakfast but there was a restaurant in the same building.

The bed was a bit hard.
The staff that checked us in was very friendly and arranged a taxi to pick us up the next morning to continue on the Camino. The room was comfortable. Restaurant was downstairs with good food.

You could really hear everything, at least from my room. Especially in the morning, it was really loud from people showering etc.
The staff was so Nice and helpful. The receptionist helped me Call the bus company to get to triacastela and she spoke very good english, so it was very helpful. The bathroom is outside the room but it is very nice and has a bathtub.

Falling out of my single bed. I am not so sure about the food.

When I arrived it was a Saturday and lightly snowing. The heater was on when I arrived but then switched off, so the evening and night was rather cold in she room. The facility works on a keyboard entry, so you don’t actually see any staff. There was a recommendation for two restaurants; one was closed and the other could not be located (no address was given and nothing came up when the name was googled). So dinner was water was available from a corner store or the service station.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom aaa clean and modern.

Big trucks use the road beside the hotel...all night. Very loud...hard to sleep soundly...
It was available when nothing else was ...close to the Camino. 2.5 miles in a cab from the trail...the sweet girl at the front was very helpful. Restaurant was good!

Room was very small and stuffy, window only to internal courtyard, fortunately there was a ceiling fan which helped but it was noisy. €10 each way from the Camino route makes the hotel expensive.
Very clean, nice staff, happy to organise taxi for next morning.

Loud with very thin walls. You can hear people next door or down the hall. Fiesta played from 11 pm to 5 am. I got no sleep. Not the hotel's fault but still.

not on the way to Santiago then they profit to charge for taxi also no day meal could have a nap because noise working downstair add to that 5€ for one coffee 2 pieces of bread and one orange juice bedroom and bathroom separated and not convenient because you have to close one door and open the other one and vis versa

The bedroom was very small and cramped. There was no outside window…only one to the interior. The only air circulation was with an annoying ceiling fan. Our private bathroom was across the hall and keys were needed to go from the room to the bathroom. Not exactly convenient for nighttime bathroom trips. Price was low, but would’ve paid more if I knew how marginal the room was.

LOCATION. IT IS NOT IN THE CAMINO. You need to take a 4-kms detour, todo cuesta. Better to stay in Cebreiro if you are a peregrine. Walking, it takes almost an hour to go back to the Camino, 30 mins by bike todo cuesta arriba!
