Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe furniture and decor is very dated. The rooms on the first floor when you come in are very dark and it was really noisy at night. But for the price it is definitely good
In such an amazing location. Really has everything you need for the price included, we got moved to a room upstairs after our first night which was lovely as had a balcony overlooking the street below. Would recommend requesting a room on the top floor. Staff were very helpful too

United KingdomThe shower and bathrooms didn't look the cleanest might just be because they are dated. Did request a twin but ended up getting a double but that isn't a deal breaker. The room was too warm and aircon didn't seem to make it cooler. .
The location is amazing, right in the centre of pretty winding streets, very close to the cathedral. Very reasonable price. The room was cute and did the job of a cheap bed for the night.

New ZealandThe bathrooms weren't super clean and the floors get very wet after showers. The place was also quite dark.
The location was great. 100m to a great tapas street which leads down to the cathedral and the Alcazar.

The Old Town location couldn't be improved: right above an atmospheric narrow street, 1820s cafe'n'restaurant area, yet no disturbance to sleep. The room was simple, but perfectly adequate; the ability to sit on a 1st-floor street-facing sofa, enjoying one's own food, whilst soaking up the atmosphere below, was a winner. The staff were very obliging; the ability to leave a bag behind reception was most appreciated.

SwedenBe prepared that it's no elevator in the building. The stairs are long and steepy. If you have problems with your mobility. This is not a place for you.
Vergara is a budget Hostel in the old city center of Seville. You will not find so many other places in this price range. And it's quite ok. The staff is very helpful and they change your towels almost every day.

ItalyThe room and the bathroom were not as clean as expected. The walls were very thin, so we could hear EVERYTHING, was it fights or intimate stuff... the outside noise is normal since it is very central and close to the cathedral, but it was not a big deal. The doors didn’t close properly, and although there were keys, I didn’t feel very safe. This feeling was further aggravated by the fact that one night someone tried to force the door, making us take a fright

New ZealandOn the first night, we were put into a smaller room than we had booked and had to ask to be moved to the room we had paid for. The door of the first ( incorrect smaller room) we were put into was extremely difficult to unlock/ lock and, in the end, impossible. The doors for both rooms we stayed in would not close unless they were locked. The bathrooms were marginal in appearance. It was quite difficult to tell how clean they were. One of them had a bad smell in it all the time. There were no shower rose holders, so you would have to hold the shower rose while showering. I stayed 2 nights and skipped having showers. There was only one light in our room, and it was very dimly lit. The bedsheets were very thin, and I didn't know what my pillow was stuffed with, but it felt very lumpy and a bit uncomfortable. Also, the 2nd room had a sloping floor, and when my brother and I woke up in the morning, our mattresses had come partly of the bed.
The location was fantastic. Very close to major attractions, eating places and grocery stores. I could see the Seville Cathedral from the open bathroom window. The correct room that we were put into on the second night was spacious, and the property was authentically decorated, including nice tiling.

United KingdomLuckily we stayed for just one night. Unfortunately the whole venue wasn't that clean and welcoming. The toilets and showers were dirty, I wasn't comfortable when I was using them. The room we had was a bit gloomy, a bit dusty. I believe the building needs a renovation.
