An absolutely stunning hotel with staff that are happy to help with any request. The room was very clean and comfy with a beautiful view. The location of the hotel could not be more convenient for sightseeing in the Old Town. The breakfast was delicious and very accommodating.

I liked it all though it was a bit pricey.

When you reach the Cathedral at Santiago de Compostela, you are feeling happy and excited and exhausted. What a pleasure to walk right off the square into this fantastic old hotel. The staff were welcoming and our room was comfortable. It was a pleasure to explore all the aspects of the hotel from the top to the bottom. A good experience.

It is to be expected as the hotel is refurbished historic building, the soundproof is not enough and the noise outside was deafening. The bathroom is very comfortable and the beds are wide, but the bedroom itself is small.

Best location. Excellent service at the reception & restaurant. Staying at religious and valuable historic buildings.

A Once In a Lifetime Treat!!
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Superior Double Room
    • Stayed 3 nights

Our room during the day was a bit noisy from outside noise as we were directly on the side street, but at night, after day trippers had gone their separate ways, the room was quiet. Except for the fact that no one will ever sneak up on you in the room as the floors creaked -- but then what do you expect from a 400 yrs. old establishment! If you use a washcloth, be sure to bring one with you (not white in case the housekeeping staff think it might be theirs's!). This is typical in European hotels. Also bring a baggie in case it's still wet on packing day. Surprised that the restaurant wasn't familiar with the French "cocktail" Kir (creme de cassis and white wine -- or a Kir Royale made with champagne). In any event, that should be the worst that could ever happen to us!

The first time we stayed in Santiago, we booked a very nice hotel, but it was a good 20 min. walk to the cathedral. When we saw the Parador, we remarked that if we ever came back, this is where we would stay. Well, 15 years later we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights here. One could walk around the hotel for days and discover a new nook and cranny. If you plan to eat in the restaurants at night, be sure to make reservations ahead of time. We lucked out the first night as someone had cancelled. The main dining room is expensive, but the food was excellent. The location in general just can't be beat. Not only the proximity to the cathedral, but one of the main streets loaded with restaurants, shops, etc.

Moved to royal suite after complaining about morning noise from the service corridor next to our junior suite. Staff could not have been more helpful and kind. It was our 40th wedding anniversary so a very special stay.
