Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMy inability to speak Spanish - I'm working on it.
Although other accommodation types were available I had a basic en-suite room for 2 weeks. It was out of season and I was often the only overnight guest. This was never a problem. Access to my room did not require reception services. Also its role as a Venta meant food and drink were available 7am-late evening. This is precisely the type of accommodation solo travellers exploring the area need. No fuss no frills.

SpainThe sliding bar lock on the room door was difficult to lock and unlock from the inside, and given the draft from under the door, it took quite a while to heat the room adequately.
Excellent value stay near several nature reserves, supportive staff, popular restaurant with tasty food on 1st floor, super comfy bed. The warm comforter on the bed was very much appreciated for my wintertime stay.

SwitzerlandWe stayed here on Wednesday night. Thursday, for some reason, is the day off for the diner and motel staff which, as far as we could tell, consists of a lone bartender/waiter. So we didn’t have the opportunity to have breakfast the following morning we did eat dinner at the diner on Wednesday and it was perfectly fine. We also bought some bread and pre-made coffee from the diner the evening before and were able to prepare it and heat it up in the kitchen at in the apartment. So maybe think twice before you stay here on a Wednesday night, or make sure you have your own breakfast food for Thursday morning. Also don’t expect a tour of the surrounding fields which have a few chickens and at least one sheep.
This place is the Spanish equivalent of a motel, equipped with a diner, on the side of the 2-lane highway about 15 minutes outside of Ronda in the direction of Zahara. The rooms are accessed from the outside of the building, and there are two levels. We needed a place to stay while passing through the area and visiting Ronda for a few hours, and this place Happen to be available and fit the bill for our family size. It is by no means fancy, and has a very 1980s vibe, but it was clean and the apartment was big enough to accommodate our family of four and had some simple facilities like a kitchenette and a few pots and pans. The TV is a tiny flat screen on the wall in the kitchen area, but it has cable and works fine, and the pool is simple but clean. If you can get it for about €100 or less for one of those apartments, then I would say this is a good deal but don’t expect anything luxurious.

United KingdomThe furniture was a bit dated. Chairs were small. There was air conditioner which we used as a heater before going to bed. In the morning it was chilly to get out of the bed. The pillow on the double bed was a single long pillow. Me being a side sleeper it was not enough. Everything else we can live with but the poor insulation of the walls is not cool. We could hear people talk. Also sounds as if water was running. Glad it was only one night for us.
The room and bathroom was spacious. Overall it was clean.
