Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWifi was too weak to work in our room.
We went with 2 dogs, no problem. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a large field next door for walking your dog. Parking space is plentiful.

SpainThere was a little dead bug squished on the wall above the bed. The bathroom was almost too tiny to get in and out of, but that didn't really bother me as a petite person. The noise bothered me the most, as a light sleeper: being an old house, all of the original wood stairs and flooring creaks, and there otherwise isn't a lot of insulation. I could hear the couple next door talking (thank heavens they didn't do anything else 😂); once I turned on my travel fan and white noise machine, it was tolerable, at least until morning when everyone started moving around.
The staff were lovely, the place was antique and charming, the location was decent, and the breakfast was nice and of good value.

NetherlandsThe restaurants nearby in the town Bakio were not the best in my opinion, expensive for the quality/quantity but the hotel can do nothing about this of course. Tip: Maybe a fan in the room would be nice for the warm nights.
The girl who was checkin us in was fast and super friendly and even walked up with us to show our room. We had a cute little room on the top floor with a great window and view. The hotel is 20/30 min drive to Bilbao and just 5 minutes to an amazing beach with a beautiful sunset and groups of surfers. We went for an evening swim and the moment + feeling was magical. We extended with one night because there is much to see close by.

PortugalUnfortunately, we were there during a storm, so we found that the windows don't close properly and the room was a bit flooded. The room was clean, but there's definitely room for improvement too. The bathtub is a hazard, there's no mat on the floor so it's very slippery and dangerous.
The place was very pleasant and very easy to get there. Parking on site is a plus. the rooms were spacious and, because the hotel is an old house, expect some not so modern finishes. Good TV and good views from the room windows. Very close to supermarket and the beach. Breakfast was good.

BelgiumHonestly, we thought that the Hosteria needs some renovation. We liked the type of property but it is visibly in need of some retouching (walls, bathroom, …)
The staff was really friendly and helpful. We really appreciated that. The property is well located, a few mins walk away from the beach, a big supermarket and the easy to reach by car and bus. The parking is also very big and we found it safe. We also appreciated that many personal care items were available in the room (comb, shaving kit, toothbrush kit..)

United KingdomOutside area needed attention, weeding, etc. Garden furniture could have been better, lounger available also for enjoying to outside space. Some of the repairs and renervations to the property not of a good standard (ie the floor boards in the bedroom felt like you would go through if you didn't tread carefully, grouting in the bathroom looked bad made it difficult to look clean)
Good location, parking on site, staff friendly and helpful bed comfortable and clean sheets and towels. All you need for travelling, we just prefer better attention to the whole property to create the ambiance.

GermanyThe only thing to critise would be the breakfast. It is a bit boring to eat the very same thing every day, and for people that are vegetarian it might also not be the perfect choice. It would have been nice to have a garbage bin in the room. But still a wonderful stay
This was such a wonderfully different experience. I had a beautiful nostalgic room, with lovely wooden floors and stone walls, a nostalgic looking bed, which was very comfortable and an incredible view into the palm filled garden. Everything was very clean, towels, floors, bath. The staff was very kind, polite, helpful and friendly at any given time. The hotel is incredibly close to the beach, 50m away from the bus stop and in a really calm and beautiful neighborhood. It was a really enjoyable stay. especially for the weonderful price.
