How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Shame there was no fridge in the room.
Pretty and spacious room with a balcony that looked right over the river and the Zubizuri bridge. The location next to the river is great, just 10 minutes from the Guggenheim museum in one direction and 10 minutes from the old town and Pintxos in the other direction. Friendly staff gave good advice on weather, where to walk and taxis. A really nice place to stay and relax after a long trip around Northern Spain!

Better quality toiletries in line with the room price. Staff were professional and friendly, especially Monica and Jose. Ladies who did the housekeeping in the rooms were excellent. Breakfast was very nice with a good choice,but at times it took a while for breakfast items to be replenished. We were here to celebrate my brother's birthday, which was on one of the days we stayed in the hotel. I had informed them of this. However, was disappointed that the hotel did not mark his birthday by a little card in his room or even a small complimentary drink. Most hotels will do this. Very disappointed. Also, tea/coffee tray in room or in foyer would be nice. There was a station in the foyer, but it was only available after the restaurant and bar closed. After that, it was always covered up. As we were leaving the hotel, the staff on duty were very impersonal. I had to initiate the farewell, and thanks. They did not say thanks for staying and have a pleasant onward journey. These are only small matters, but in the hospitality business, they are so important. We had been their guests for a 5 night stay, so a little bit more attention would have been expected.

Cleanliness of the tables in the restaurant at breakfast, extra bed in the room could use a good cleanning, rooms on lower floors had a bad smell and we had to change it for another room.
Location is top, personel ultra friendly and helpful, big rooms

only the pillows, but everyone's taste differs.
A very large room with a huge, comfortable bed. good bathroom with lots of hot water. the breakfast was a superb buffet with loads of choice, both hot and cold. Lovely rolls.

Perhaps the bar closing in the evening was a little strange, as we were part of a group we had to meet up elsewhere.
The staff were excellent , especially Oxcanna , with recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. She is worth her weight in gold . From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The location is fabulous. It is a short walk over the bridge to the Guggenheim and the new town and you can go along the river to the old town. The funicular is close by to go to the top for views of Bilbao and the metro station and the tram stops and the buses are all nearby. Room was small but comfortable Staff were excellent with good English. Oxana was lovely! Breakfast was decent

The only con would be the parking option. There is limited availability to the available indoor parking and if there is not a spot you just have to look around the neighborhood. If you travel by car and family and plenty of luggage that can be of some distress.

The room was with a quite dull style, with not much natural light coming in, and not luminous by itself, and quite cold, even with the blankets provided.
The location is very good, walking-distance to basically everything and the beautiful Zubizuri bridge right in front of the hotel. The breakfast was exceptional, from variety to quality.

Should have been more information about not serving meals on a Saturday evening, which meant that we could only get drinks and snacks.
Liked the location which was very convenient for the Guggenheim and walks by the river. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice of both hot and cold items.
