Kalufa House is the best place I could choose for exploring Lanzarote. The house is well equipped with everything we needed, clean and spacious, a lovely garden and swimming pool. Kalufa has a special energy and offers a very welcoming space thanks to the amazing hosts Laura and Roberto. The place was perfect for us because it’s out of the beaten path but at the same time very close to the beach, amenities and the beautiful Timanfaya national park.

Not a negative, but as described in the listing having your own transport (car or bicycle) is probably a good idea.

We had a fabulous stay at Kalufa! We loved the house, but, even more than this, we found Laura and Roberto to be the most incredible hosts. They really made the stay special for us. We enjoyed the company of other guests and I think that it is the type of place that attracts relaxed and interesting people. If we were to return to Lanzarote, we would definitely want to stay here again. Thank you!

Laura was very friendly, communicative and accomodating. She gave us very good tips for our visit of the island. The hotel is very nice, with tastefull decorations and very clean! We even spent new year Eve with her and other clients of the hotel and it was super fun! We highly recommend this place!!!

We booked the suite and I think it's a great option, you have a lot of space, a walk-in closet, a panoramic glass door looking at the pool and your "personal" outdoor chillout armchairs. The common kitchen has really everything you may need, and the overall decoration is really, really nice. It's easy to reach every part of the Lanzarote island by car from there, and there is a convenient private car parking. We booked a surf lesson at Famara beach through the owners and it was easy to organize and fun even for very beginners!

Really nothing. This place is really well designed, just go and experience it. You'll like it for sure. Make sure you have a car though, the island is much nicer to discover this way.

The whole vibe of this place is perfect. You feel like you're invited to a family vacation villa. The house is super nicely decorated, it's amazingly well done. The outside area around the pool is so nice that you feel like relaxing there all day. Inside, the kitchen gives a very homely feeling and guests often run into each other and have a talk. It will depend on the other guests how close you get, some people are into that, some people are not. But the house facilitates meeting each other. The rooms are also very stylish and clean.

Nothing at all, I enjoyed every second of it. If I was here with my family I would have felt very out of place, but that's absolutely fine - everyone was quiet and calm and adult, so this was perfect.

The house is stunning - remarkably clean and very quiet and tranquil. I highly recommend it. There are very nice cooking facilities, the pool area is incredible and I had the best room ! with a balcony overlooking the pool.

Leaving the island

This place is ideal for couples who want to have intimacy with a nice comfortable room and bed, but also open to meet other travellers and make friends to go out for dinner, beach days etc. The house itself is like a villa with amazing pool and chill out areas, bbq, full kitchen, place to leave your surfboards, parking ... and just a few minutes from the best surfspots. Spotlessly clean house, beautifully decorated with a lovely garden and pool. Super comfortable bed, well appointed kitchen and plenty of space for all the guests. It's perfectly possible to get around by bus and it's quite safe to walk although there are no actual pavements on the road out of El Cuchillo. Tinajo nearby is a lovely little town with a couple of good bakeries with cafes which stay open late. There's a great bar which brews their own beer. It's a nice walk on a Sunday to Mancha Blanca where there's a little farmers market. Bike Stop cafe in La Santa is great too. Buses are cheap, reliable and even play 1980s music from the UK. Save money on hire cars and take the bus!
