How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No sheets were provided and the pillows were a bit hard.
Great albergue. The staff were friendly and the facilities were great. There's a bar/restaurant downstairs, a communal dining hall (for a shared pilgrim's meal), a living room, kitchen, small laundry room and a sun terrace with space to dry laundry.

We were lucky to stay only 4 in the room for 10. Otherwise to have only one combined shower and toilet can be a challenge. But may be when more people the other facilities will be available.
Great dinner. Unexpected prepared breakfast. Beautifully organized common area. Ruben was very friendly and a good host.

Bed was a bit basic and heating in my room was not working but it was warm in the rest of the alburge.
Friendly and welcoming on arrival. Ruben was great as well as the other lady. Good facilities for washing and drying. Good lounge area for relaxing.

Arrived just after 4pm so the bar/restaurant was closing. Lady at the bar wanted me to order to eat since it’ll be shut for the day. I was sweaty and not quite ready to eat but you have to go with flow. Glad I did. It was best seafood paella I had so far. For folks who dropped in to stay after me there was no food to be had. Place looked nice, comfortable hippyish & tropical with lots of areas to hang out and socialize outside of my room.

It was a bit chaotic when I arrived and wasn't sure where to head or who to see and even the arrow on the stairs was pointing in the wrong direction to add to the confusion in a busy bar.
It was made all the better due to only having to share an 8 bed dorm with one other person so we nearly had a private bathroom....

Lovely accommodating staff! We arrived right as dinner was being served and they made room for us and fed us. Food was great. Room was comfortable. Great place to stay.

Very noisy bed, I woke up every time the person above me was turning around. This was the only downside. It's a bit on the expensive side, sheets are not included in the price.

Shower backed up a bit. Drain needs fixing.
Friendly staff. Very efficient check in. Exceptional pilgrim's meal. We happen to be there for town fiesta, so really fun stay in Lorca, however La Bodega del Camino was a great place to stay.

Neither the Bar/Cafe nor the albergue kitchen were open, so there was no way to get a coffee or breakfast before setting out on the Camino. The only other albergue/bar, across the street, also was closed. (The two albergues are competitors). The bar was also closed before 7 PM, so absolutely nothing was happening in the evening. The hot water was excellent, but the shower didn’t drain fast enough, so you stand in a big puddle of dirty water. No store or other facilities in the village. Better as a short rest stop for lunch than an overnight stay. Just a few km down the Camino are a few more villages with more amenities
Clean, comfortable beds, nice peregrino dinner. Dormitory had plenty of room to move around without disturbing others. Broke up a long Camino trek.
