Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bathroom in our room - pictures don't fully show that it's basically part of the bedroom and there's zero privacy (a very low wall, glass on top and a small, low saloon-style door, no extractor fan). You can see, hear (and smell) everything. It may have been ok, maybe, if travelling solo, but it wasn't comfortable as a couple. The wall could have been taken further up or even to the ceiling and a full glass door with a glass panel over it could have been installed to make the bathroom a bit airtight and private.
Quiet room with nice views, dressing area, pretty décor, friendly staff, central location and a very good breakfast served on the patio at the back.

United KingdomOpen plan en suite facilities rather uncomfortable. We might have liked it if we were 40 years younger!! WiFi poor in room. Good in bar.
Location was brilliant. As good as being on the main square. Reception friendly and welcoming. Lovely breakfast. Funkiness. Was worried about the expense and location of parking but in the end we were very happy with the worry-free arrangement.

GermanyThe room had a mildewy odor, and even after leaving I noticed the musty smell in my things. I hope some fresh air through it during this spring/summer will take care of it, because it is a lovely hotel.
The hotel is right off the main square in the heart of the old town. Beautifully decorated, large room with great shower. Shutters blocked the light and sounds from outside well. Nice to have a choice in pillows. Friendly hosts. Nice breakfast (and a very special treat for tea-drinkers!) Let me leave my bag after checkout.

SpainParking, Santiago organized a space in another hotel for 11 euros. Was worth it though as there is no parking spaces in the street nearby.
Excellent host, Santiago went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. Room was of good size, warm, cosy & perfect for two people. Location was fantastic, close to the Plaza Mayor & City Centre. Breakfast was very good. We were fortunate to have the Saint George parade & celebrations happening on the Plaza Mayor, WOW.

AustraliaWe had a wonderful stay in Caceres. Hotel la Boheme is fabulous. Our hosts Rosa and Santiago went above and beyond to make our stay a most enjoyable one. I wish we had another day there. I can highly recommend this hotel. It's close to everything.

United KingdomThe bathroom is rather ‘public’. There is no door and the wall doesn’t reach up to the ceiling, so any noise from there can be heard in the bedroom!
The location was perfect in the Plaza Mayor. The owners were very helpful and charming

RussiaToilet is not fully separated from the room: it's mole like a folding screen (stone made, but with several designer holes), which is significantly lower than the ceiling. Instead of door this WC has a fabric curtain. So if your partner is shy or delicate, such an semi-open toilet might be a problem.
The room and entire hotel has Arabic overview reminding the Moorish roots of Caceres. Tea room in the lobby offers unique variety of teas.

United KingdomLighting idiosyncratic but this is common in many hotels.
Unique, quirky and entertaining. Great location on the edge of the main square, ideal for the old town. We had a private terrace, and enjoyed our complementary bottle of wine out there. Quiet despite the location. Usual Spanish breakfast, even better in the hotel’s enclosed terrace. Helpful, pleasant hosts.

United KingdomSorry no faults for first time
Perfect position on the main square, wonderfully atmosperic bedrooms in keeping with this medieval town, and the most gorgeous helpful and welcoming staff, I am usually critical of any hotel I arrive in but I could find no fault in this, finally a perfect hotel. Oh and a million time nicer than the Parador where my sister stayed. Greta value and lovely simple breakfast with cake bread cheese olive oil tomatoes and great coffee in the pretty garden

United KingdomHosts Santiago and Rosa gave a weary moto traveller a very warm and friendly welcome - thank you. I had the top floor attic room which was uniquely arabic. I was aware that parking might be a problem and did have to park 150m away in a residencial area. Not ideal but Casares does seem safe and all was fine.

This is a beautiful and original hotel, like stepping back in time in Morocco. Beautifully thought out decor with gorgeous views from the window. Rosa & Santiago made us extremely welcome, nothing too much trouble. Everything was comfortable and easy. We had breakfast in their stunning little courtyard. Fresh bread with various spreads, coffee and juice. Perfect start to the day. I would not hesitate to return to this gem. Caćeres is a stunning town!

BelgiumWhat a charming hotel, we received a very warm welcome, the room was full of character, beautifully detailed! You step out on the central square full of bars, restaurants and at the doorstep of the historical centre. The breakfast was marvelous, it's all in the details. The (rain)shower is just perfect! And we found it easy to park our car very nearby and free. Top of my list.
