How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Immaculately presented and super clean Albergue that has the Wow factor. Has to be the best I've stayed in over 4 Caminos. Warm welcome, despite checking in early. Great kitchen and comfortable communal lounge.

My wifi kept dropping out. No dry area within individual shower to get changed. Pod curtains aren't blackout curtains so when other people turn on their individual pod light or get up to go to the bathroom (the hall light goes on, is on a sensor) then this can shine through your pod curtain.
Super nice helpful guy runs the place. It was very clean and quiet. It has a lovely modern upstairs kitchen, dining, lounge area. Has seperate women's and men's bathrooms. Women's had 2 shower and 2 toilets. Showers had body wash and shampoo. Had hairdryer. All areas very modern and clean. Pod bunks with privacy curtains and individual light and power outlet- bed was spacious and comfortable and had clean linen. Has lockable storage locker below bunk with a key provided. Great breakfast included- super fresh bread loaf with butter and two jam types, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, muffin and biscuits. I used the correos luggage transfer service to/from and this went really well. Quick, easy check in (was able to check in a little early as it was raining so arrived early). Fantastic place to stay on your Camino Del Norte. It is s few hundred metres off your main camino trail but easy to locate.

Such a great albergue!!!! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Great to have a kitchen and curtains on the beds for extra privacy. Great location in Comillas as well.

Some protein or fruit for breakfast would have been good. It was carb heavy.
The three walls and a screen made it feel private. Power, lights, a shelf and a locker right under your bed is great! Staff were cheerful & helpful.

The washing machine looked a bit dirty. It looks like it did its job, though.
By far the best albergue I have stayed on Camino del Norte. Comfortable bed and bedding - the most important factor for me. I got the top bunk, which is not preferred in most cases but I loved it here. It's like your own room. The bed is so steady that you can flip around as much without worrying about the neighbour. I really appreciated there was heating as well.

The staff was nice, the rooms clean. I opted for the three person shared room and it was a only a bit more money for the convenience. Still one bathroom shared between two rooms, but they are cleaned frequently. Breakfast was decent.

At the top of a small hill, which isn't what you want at the end of a day's Camino, but that was unavoidable.
Delightful albergue - friendly, well run by really nice people, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was coffee, a carton of apple juice and various other items. All the necessary equipment for washing clothes, and an area to sit outside.

Really not much of a criticism, just quite a small building, but the dorms were constructed very cleverly to make it work.
Beds and duvets and pillows were fabulous, the capsules with curtains, light, plug etc gave each person a little privacy, and lockers really well placed and gave space. Super clean (I worry a lot about bed bugs, get badly bitten!) - couldn't have been cleaner everywhere Helpful - let us leave our bags next morning for a while, really appreciated this Breakfast the best in all places.

I loved how friendly the staff were, and how accommodating. Due to an injury, they allowed me to stay for two nights, I was very grateful! I loved the privacy that the curtained bunks provided Kitchen was well stocked, very congenial atmosphere with other guests
