Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The location looking over the pastures, the rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent. Fantastic meat dishes and good value for money. Overall, a wonderful stay.

In the center of a quaint farming mountain village, it offers respite for the tired with firm beds, warm, modern, wide bathrooms, and a beautiful view from our balcony room. Quiet and comforting.

United StatesWe had a car, so location was not a problem. For people doing the Camino it’s out of the way, I think. Many on the Camino had to rely on taxis. Driving in was intimidating: 15 minutes on a very narrow mountainous road that in many stretches doesn’t seem to have room for cars traveling in opposite directions. The problem ended up being GPS from O Cebreiro. It doesn’t let you know of another much easier option. Also, our shower door didn’t close properly, causing the floor to get a little wet. But we loved the room and the surroundings.
In a beautiful valley about 15 minutes from O Cebreiro in a mountainous region. The room had lots of traditional stones, a view of a pasture with cows and horse and a lovely stream. It’s a very small town, a bit out of the way, rendering it very quiet and relaxed. The woman who worked there (maybe owns or manages the place) was extremely helpful. Plenty of hot water for the shower.

DenmarkI don't want to offend people from Las Herrerías - but, this is a very special seudo place. I arrived relatively late in the day - had a very good dinner (ate at the hostal's restaurant) and the breakfast was also very good. It is super important to have a good night - so that you can take the next very hard trip over the mountain pass on the Camino. I can recommend the place.

CanadaThe Standard Queen Room was quite nice, clean, and good value in this small pueblo, but had a few "flaws" that detracted from it's overall comfort. The room is described as having a "mountain view" and there was a small shred of mountain visible from the window. However the external stairs to the upper floor rooms ran directly outside the window, so other patrons walked by to access their accommodation. Consequently, one couldn't lie on the bed to admire the "mountain view" without a passerby looking in the window to admire them. I had to keep the blind closed the entire time. The other thing that detracted was the night-time security light: it was above the door, VERY bright and directly in line with the head of the bed. A sleeping mask would have helped immensely but I did not have one, and was woken many many times when I turned in the direction of the light. I stayed on Espana day, and the La Pandela restaurant/bar was closed. No food was available in the pueblo because the restaurant in the albergue next door and the restaurant in the hotel up the hill had signs up reading that they would not serve food to anyone who was not staying there. I went hungry that night. The staff at La Pandela were lovely upon check-in and I wish I could have had more interaction with them. The toiletries offered were of a superior quality, there was a drying rack for hand washing, which I really appreciated since I was walking the Camino. The whole place was very clean, the bed comfortable and I appreciated having a screen on the window. The room was good value for 38 Euros. I would stay there again, but would choose a different room and definitely bring a sleeping mask.

we stayed here during our Camino walk, and it was an excellent blend of clean, comfortable room and terrific customer service. The room itself had everything you’d want for a Camino stop including a balcony that looked out at the street of this one street town. We ate both lunch and dinner at the property and both were great with terrific service. what made La Pandela shine was the care that they took when we left a wallet in our room. they contacted us immediately and got the wallet to our next hotel. this was such an incredible act of kindness on something that could have ruined our trip.
