Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe kitchen was completely empty, no utensils plates or anything for you to even make a sandwich. We did a bubble of baths which was ok, but after about an hour, I tried to shower and there was no warm water anymore. Not sure what went wrong there. Aside from that, it felt quite a big room for only a couple, so I recommend this stay more for families.
Huge suite room with a living room, and a big terrace. Pool looks amazing and well taken care of surroundings. Amazing breakfast and friendly staff. And big parking space if you have a car. Really good value for money for what you get but —>

LithuaniaWould be nice to have more food option like fruits or vegetables for lunch in pool bar. They cook all food without salt or any taste, you need to add by yourself salt, ketchup, mayo and etc.
Amazing view, amazing area. Very nice shuttle bus lady! Family friendly hotel.

RomaniaNothing to complain about.
The views from the hotel are fantastic. The food was very good, every evening there were different options to choose from and the chefs did a great job, plenty of options for everybody. There's a tennis court that is free to use, a large chess board, a gym room with 24/7 access. There are 3 pools, one for little kids, one for adults and one heated. The hotel has a large parking space, no issues with finding a spot during our trip. The views from the hotel are the best.

SwedenThe pillows in the bed felt quite lumpy and flat, just a change of slightly fluffier and newer pillows would make the bed very comfortable. Other than that we have no complaints.
The breakfast was up to our expectations, with plenty of salty and sweet options to choose from. We loved the views from the mountain, the size of the room and the fantastic bath tub in the bathroom.

CroatiaSmall issue during check in because they didn't have information the room is already paid and wanted to charge one more time, but everything was ok after several minutes when they found the proof in their system. We got twin bed because the room with large bed was not available - it was comport for sleeping, but easily get separated with small gap between. However, neither of this influenced our staying and it is a very good hotel.
The hotel is very nice and location is easy approachable from the highway which was important for us because we were exploring the island with a car every day. Although it was full, we always managed to find the parking space. Some hotels in the center or closer to center have the issue with the parking so this was very important to us. Very good breakfast with variety of choices. Every evening there was some show in the bar which was nice to look at if you spend some evenings in hotel. We didn't use the pool and other amenities because we were exploring the island every day, but they looked very nice. Overall it was very good hotel and would definitely recommend it.

United KingdomA kettle is part of the premium suite room service! Without the pemium, summing up a daily charge to "rent it" over a week would easily cost more than an alright kettle. :/ The WiFi was pretty poor in the room - still there by the door, but the further in you went, less or none you had.
The Bistro Aquila at the hotel was very nice, both for the takeaway pizzas and an evening meal. The staff all across the hotel have been friendly and helpful. There were plenty of parking spaces. The shuttle coach to town was very appreciated, especially as Puerto de la Cruz is pretty hilly and the hotel is also placed on a hill, so walking back to it from the city centre requires a good climb - although it is not steep, thankfully. Tenerife has a very good public transport running, and there are some good bus stops in a walking distance from the hotel - one can easily have a half-day trip to Icod de los Vinos. If travelling with a car, the TF-5 motorway is very close, too. The hotel premises are very good - the swimming pools, a playable big chess set, there is even a cute little pond with turtles. And the views are very good.

Czech RepublicWe picked this place as we thought it would be an interesting experience to stay on a hill as we weren't using the time to visit the city or anything since we had to work during the stay anyway. But it has certain disadvantages like being far away from everything or the hotel basically having monopoly for everything as any alternative is simply too far. Unless you take the full package going to the nearest supermarket takes some time and you have to climb the hill on your way back. The rooms were big of course, but it was quite dated and not clean either. We found hairs on the walls, a dead cockroach appeared in our bathroom during our stay and it took 3 days for someone to notice and clean it and when we were leaving also someone's sock popped up from under the bed so not to leave mess while looking like I was the cause I threw it to the trash bin. On the terrace there was also still dust from the forest fires which were happening 9 months ago. They do clean corridors and it superficially might look ok, but there are things which get omitted. In comparison to many other 4* hotels you don't even get a kettle and a tea in the room unless you pay for premium, nor any water dispenser on the corridors as an alternative. This I consider the monopoly I mentioned earlier as other hotels down in the city which I've been to have at least something. Obviously you can buy things at a bar and as I was feeling a bit under the weather I was buying myself a tea (2€/cap), sadly they didn't have any fruit one. But I don't think there was even any place to buy a big bottle of water. So the options I know of are: Take All Inclusive, buy small caps of waters/drinks at the bar or small bottles in a single vending machine I found or take the trip to the supermarket (you can also use a hotel bus to the city, but its schedule is quite scarce).
The hotel is bigger so they had a very good breakfast with a variety of things to choose from, including local cheese for instance. When we were in the fruit selection was not awesome, but it might have been because it was the beginning of April - and other hotels we were in during this time didn't have it either. Other than that the personal was kind and friendly too. And there is a great view from the pool area down to the city or from outside the reception on the mountains and El Teide.

United KingdomBit tired around the edges and the our room was a 3 star standard, not 4. Needs refreshing and a bit of maintenance doing. For example, the bath panel was coming away and the wood in the bathroom was chipped. The buffet room is frantic. Would suggest different seating times as sometimes struggled to find a seat. Could do with a hotel shuttle from the airport as it's a long way out and a taxi is very expensive.
The setting is beautiful. Pick a sea view and not mountain as you'll look out over the car park and shopping precinct. The hotel bistro pizzas are excellent.

SpainShared spaces inside the hotel need a revamp as well as the breakfast experience. Premium rooms get a separate location with a separate menu though.
The Premium Suite is totally worth it. It's big, located on the last floor (with beautiful sea views) and has great facilities. The staff was really helpful and kind. Special mention to overall cleanliness.

SpainWhen you book a ground-floor room, they don't inform you that the room faces the car park. You only discover this upon check-in when they ask if you'd like to pay extra for an upgrade to a room with a better view, such as a sea view instead of a view of the car park.
Breakfast offered a variety of options and was quite enjoyable. However, we encountered some difficulty with seating arrangements as certain tables were reserved for VIP guests, leaving us to compete for indoor tables due to strong winds outside. Nevertheless, the rooms were generously sized and the beds were comfortable. The presence of a kitchenette and a useful fridge were appreciated, although it was disappointing that utensils were not provided. Additionally, there were no toiletries available. Access to the hotel was limited to those with cars. Despite these minor drawbacks, I particularly enjoyed the breathtaking sea views.

LithuaniaDespite great value, this hotel is for those who can tolerate cheap wine, not so tasty food (we had a half board included) and really terrible coffee.. Coffee from automatic coffee machines was diluted with water. It was the worst coffee we had in any hotel visited before - that is definitely the shame of this Melia hotel. To be honest, there was a better coffee machine for "premium" visitors, this coffee was much better but still nothing special. And we were not allowed to make this premium coffee ourselfs - had to ask a waiter every time.. Furthermore, room service get annoyingly worse till the end of our stay, maids kept forgetting to add the essentials, or even clean up the room. Rooms a bit too old needs some attention, especially bathrooms. In the end, a tiny minus - it was not possible to do a late check out (even at 2 pm). Overall the rating is 9 only because of great value.
Great spacious and comfortable "premium" rooms, extra attention to "premium" visitors. Better breakfast for "premium" suite visitors. Large double bed. Free tennis courts. Plenty of parking space. Well kept surroundings of the hotel. Great value!
