Not the hotel's fault, but there was quite major works going on in the square outside (digging up the pavements and road) that were very noisy and meant that we couldn't use the balcony or have the windows open during the day which was a bit frustrating. Some people might find the lift up to the hotel a little cramped... We loved it

Location, location, location. This hotel is in the perfect place for exploring central Barcelona. Lots of great bars and restaurants nearby and walking distance to all the central sites and the harbour. Also close to metro for exploring further afield and getting to and from airport. Staff were super friendly and everything spotless

Due to availability issues, I moved from a room with cathedral view that I had for 2 nights to a room with Laeitana street view for the 3rd night, and it was a big downgrade. The street is under construction, what effects it looks and the noise from the early morning. I think it should be emphasised better that there are 2 types of views. See my other review for the nicer room photos. The switching of the room was smooth though, the staff kept my luggage and it was waiting for me at the other room, they notified me once the room was ready, about an hour before check in time.

Perfect location, best in Barcelona center IMO, and I have visited the city few times. Staff was super friendly and pro, room is small but it has anything a single traveler needs. Free coffee and water in the shared area all day long is a small but super significant addition to the stay.

We were given the impression from booking that we’d have a room with a terrace/view overlooking the cathedral walls and we were given one on the other side of the building over the road with roadworks, which was disappointing. Room is compact but this wasn’t necessarily a problem. The walls are also thin.

Very very comfy bed, staff were so so lovely and helpful, location is super central in the gothic quarter.

The entry to the hotel was a bit awkward at first but once you know where to go, it was all good. The lift is very small so be mindful of the luggage size.

Great location! Walking distance to most attractions and metro station. Quiet interior side rooms were plus despite missing the views. The bed was comfortable.

Room was very small with no real closet (just a short rod) and bench to put clothing on. If you know going in it’s small and quirky then it’s great.

Great location. Very clean. Close to several coffee and pastry shops. Great place from which to explore the area. Fun shops of all sorts along a myriad of pedestrian streets A bit quirky but we loved the location! Loved the view of the ancient Roman wall and the Cathedral is just around the corner.

The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, and after two days it started to smell of a strong mildew. Note that no conditioner or body lotion is provided. We asked but were told that they were out.

Location is excellent and very charming. We requested the double balcony room and it was well worth the cathedral view! We also appreciated the free water and coffee, as well as the 24hr reception. The room as comfortable and the wifi worked well.

Excellent location and like that the front desk is 24 hours. There was a bit of construction going on right outside but it didn’t disrupt the stay outside of a little bit of noise in the morning (and obviously not the fault of the hotel). Liked the small communal area for tea and coffee. Room was on the smaller side but very comfortable.

The location was ideal ! Near very good bars and restaurants.The rooms were nicely decorated and the king size bed very comfy! Last but not least the staff was very helpful and friendly and they upgraded my room after my request with no additional costs. I can definitely recommend it!!

Not an issue as we stayed for a weekend but if you have a lot of luggage the lift up to the hostel is very tight!

As above have stayed here twice before this visit and always a great experience but I felt this time the cleanliness of the rooms was poor . Floor was dirty in bedroom and bathroom/ shower had marks on walls and around toilet . Also areas of wall paper were coming away from wall and skirting around room hadn’t been cleaned in a long time . Real shame as I said above have stayed on numerous occasions and might look elsewhere on our next visit to Barcelona.

This is our 5th time staying here at The Moods when we come to Spain, it is central and comfortable, close to the gothic and born districts, walking distance to La Sagrada and other upper town sites, the staff are always friendly and very helpful. The mercado on the opposite side of the road and one block back is excellent and less crowded than the on on La Rambla
