Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt got very hot in the top pod until I asked for the air con to be turned on, but this was turned off again overnight so I woke up in an oven. The electric blinds were great for privacy but very noisy at 3am!
Good location for the train and bus stations, plenty of room in the pod for all my stuff and for me. Felt secure, staff were lovely.

United StatesI did not like people being able to check in 24 hours a day. I was woken up several different nights by rude guests and staff who did not respect the hour of the day, despite signs and policies to be quiet during certain hours. The kitchen could use a stove top or hot plate to allow more versatile cooking ability. There was very few pieces of cutlery and only one small paring knife for preparing food.
The location of M Pods was great for going to the beach and most of the major sights were within a half hour walk. I liked the privacy of the pod concept, however, the tarp didn't do much to block out noise from in the hallway and from other pods. I also liked having access to a security code to get in the building. Being so close to the train station was also a big plus.

TaiwanI had to keep pressing the shower which is hard for washinggirls long hair but other than that everything was good.
The staff was friendly. Every pod had a blinder so travelers had their privacy and would not be easily disturbed by others use of lights.

GermanyLocation is a bit far from the center, about 15-20 mins by foot. There was not much of interaction going on among the guests, no activity in the common room. Suitable for a calm stay, but less so if you want to be joining activities and make new friends there
Very comfortable private space, very clean, very friendly and communicative staff

GermanyThat they would give me a pod on the top. I had never slept in a pod. They expected me at the age of 79 years to climb on a small ladder to the top bed. Since there wan’t a bottom bed available, I had to rent a double bed and pay 20 Euro plus.
Good bed, kind staff.

RomaniaIt could be cleaner, also the lockers must be provided for free, where you are supposed to keep your things while you are gone? Also the lockers are very small, I barely fit my backpack in it.

SloveniaThe rooms are poorly noise-isolated, which may be a problem during turistic season. Double-beds (upper pods) are too small for two persons and a bit over priced.
The rooms/toilets are very clean, the blinds of the pods enable privacy and each bed has also a little space aside which is very convenient.

United KingdomThe noise, as others have mentioned. People who snore shouldn't be selfish. They should book a separate room. I was kept awake by the snorer opposite me. Not the hostel's fault, but obv there's no sound insulation. I struggled a lot with the smell (of the bedding? Air freshener?). It wasn't a dirty smell at all, but was overpowering and made me rather nauseous. Need to reduce it or change the product for something milder.
Lovely capsules and bathrooms. Convenient for train and bus station. I got a good price, although now this seems to have increased a lot. Staff helpful. Comfortable beds and good to have more privacy than in a normal hostel.

United KingdomThe beds are a little hard. I had a top bunk which took effort to get into if you are not nimble. It's a little further out from the city but can be walked in 15-20min so not too bad. There isn't a lot to do in the immediate vicinity.
The staff were really helpful. The set-up is modern and clean. It felt safe and well organised. There was a good mix of guests of different ages and backgrounds,

United KingdomIn the end, this isn't a room as such (and they're not pretending otherwise). What that means is that you still put up with the light and the noise (including the snoring) of other guests.
The woman on reception was amazing: really helpful with tips on where to eat and clear and friendly in how she ran through the way things work there. The layout benefits enormously from arranging what are essentially bunk beds into cubicles with draw-down blinds. In doing so, you get more of a little room to yourself and one that is well-designed in terms of power outlets, surfaces and places to put your luggage (including a drawer under the bed).
