How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room had a washing machine and a line to hang our laundry, but we wanted a tumble dryer. Luckily, we found one just 100 meters away (Lacolada Astorga).
A very nice and clean room, less than 5 minutes walk from the center. Marta (the host) sent all the necessary info well in advance and was really really helpful with all our questions. Thank you very much!

location was a bit quiet but nonetheless it's just a stone throw away from the centre. I can see that the building has at least 8 rooms for rental but couldn't hear any of the other guests in the whole building, so that's really a plus. The kitchen equipment was great; crockeries and cooking utensils were really clean.

There is nothing else a reasonable person could want.
The apartments are superb with everything a person needs to live in a home away from home. Clean, spacious, all brand new, even the pots and pans and silverware. It is obvious the management’s priority is the visitors’ comfort and care. They have succeeded.

After a long cold rainy day on the Camino it was so nice to go to the apartment where it was so warm and the shower was a rainwater shower and it had a washing machine. Right off the Camino and newly renovated. Marta was so nice to work with. I will definitely stay here again. I recommend it for anyone on the Camino.

The kitchen was not well stocked. The large frying pan could not be used on the type of stovetop in the kitchen which made cooking a challenge. There was an odd assortment of glassware (though they did offer to bring more wine glasses since the apartment only had one). None of these kitchen issues were deal breakers but surprising considering how new and comfortable the apartment was.
The apartment is modern, clean, spacious and well appointed! The bathrooms were large and very user-friendly. We found the apartment to be an oasis in Astorga.

Mention that the keybox is across from the elevator. I thought it was next to the room door at first.
The space was quite big with high ceilings. The washing machine was very good and the refrigerator was big. Gadis is a minute walk away, so it was great to buy food and cook. All the kitchenware was available and very nice. The Samsung curved TV was huge!

Everything. Modern with an artistic touch to the renovation of 100 year old structure. Kitchen outfitted superbly. Bathroom was awesome. Laundry very useful for a camino couple.

The only thing I didn’t care for was that the TV was set up to narrate everything. Other than subtitles it read aloud every single word on the screen. Very annoying while scrolling through shows to watch on Netflix.
Fantastic location. Very comfortable apartment. Comfortable bed, great shower, easy check-in.

More than I wanted to pay but could be a good value if your stay was longer than ours (we left very early the next)
Very clean. Had a small equipped kitchen so we boiled eggs for our Camino. The hostess let us in early and left us a little local food treat.

A great experience all around! The location was very central, the apartment was very nicely furnished and everything worked great. Staff was prompt and friendly when giving instructions and instructions were very thorough.
