The restaurant food was extremely poor, The quality of the food was poor, I had beef and it was full of sinue and inedible, my partner had lamb which was tasteless and very poorly presented. We were so looking forward to the meal and were extremely disappointed with the quality. It was the worst meal of our European trip so far! The restaurant wait staff were very casually dressed and inattentive. When mentioning this to reception on departure, there was no response just a smile and the bill. I would not recommend eating at the restaurant and it is not cheap. Bitterly disappointed.

The setting was spectacular. There was parking adjacent to the hotel which was not an extra cost like many places. It was a beautiful building and the room was cool and comfortable - and quiet.

No hairdryer and coffee/tea facility in the room. No space to put toiletries in the bathroom. The room was on the small side.

The location inside the old town with on-site parking was a big plus. And staying in a historic building is definitely an experience. The restaurant served very good food at correct price although I wish they would at least put some garnish with the main course. I ordered a pork dish which came with just the meat and nothing else. The mozzarella salad, however, was amazing and big enough for two, as a starter. The murals in the parking lot were a nice surprise.

No fridge, safe or kettle. Also shortly after we arrived I was sitting on the arm chair when my right arm started coming out in bites and lumps. I went to reception to ask for insect spray to spray the chair only to be told No because everyone had gone home. After a hot shower the lumps and bites went down. The hotel has no bar to relax at. Expected a bit more for e424 for two nights.

The lack of a pleasant bar / lounge area near the entrance while waiting for the dinner hour to begin. The servers spoke no English and were not very pleasant. Only the older one was professional in his manner.

The location within walking distance from the cathedral of Leon and the Medieval quarter with tapas bars and shops, and the glass enclosed dining area in the old cloister. Excellent dinner menu. The quietly splashing sound of the fountain in the patio at night.

One cranky waiter!

Beautiful atmospheric hotel in converted old monastery attached to 11th century church - stunning. Beautiful town (Leon) and breathtaking drive on the Autopista de Alta Montaña from Oviedo. Don’t tell anybody else about it.

We ran the shower for about 15 minutes and no hot water. Rang reception and we don’t speak Spanish and they have limited English so we understood we had to wait 15 minutes. We waited and still only cold water. Rang reception and no answer. Eventually went down and they came to our room, ran the water for a long time and managed to get tepid water. Said it would take 5-10 minutes (by this time we’d run The water for over 30). Next morning, instant hot water. Our room was furtherest from reception and there was no safe nor fridge in the room. Whilst we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and music in the courtyard, if you were staying and not part of this event the noise I think would have been a bother.

The location is great and very central to everything. We requested a larger room which we received and it was quite large, located in the refurbished area of the hotel so was up to date and very spacious. When checking in they said they had a special dinner with a singer and we chose this. It was in the courtyard and the food and wine was fantastic and the singer very good.
