How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Parking could be hard, as the accommodation is in the centre of a very small village. We were lucky to find spots nearby but it was not high season.
This is a family run business and the hosts are really hospitable and kind to the guests - very attentive and trying to provide the best possible service. Good luck in the future! The location is perfect, the flat was spacious and had everything we need for a 2-nights stay.

everything was fantastic.
Everything! The apartment was more spacious than expected. Fine and spacious bed and even a walk-in wardrobe. We slept wonderfully here. Everything in nearby in Mundaka: the bakery, the bars, the harbour and the viewpoint to watch the surfers. Standing on the balcony you can already see the sea. Very friendly host who even came to pick us up from the train station to carry our luggage and through the winding streets immediately gave tips on places to eat. Everything is very new and nicely renovated, there is even a lift and a washer and dryer for common use. We were given extra coffee cups on request. Highly recommended.

Mundaka is a great location to stay for holidays. Very close to friendly bars and restaurants. Good public transport services, so you are able to explore neighbouring villages and towns and of course Bilbao.

Great apartment with modern facilities.Comfortable bed, excellent double glazing, large TV and a modern kitchenette. Cleaner avaiable as well.. Recommend Bar La Lenera in the town.

I would change the shower gel they provide - annoying packaging, everything else was perfect.
The room was sparkly clean, new and spacious. The guy at the front desk we talked to was really nice and helpful. The village is quite small and the apartments are located in the center so you have bars and restaurants around.

Bit tricky locating even with GPS due to one way roads.
Lovely clean modern apartment, excellent location. Host was extremely helpful in assisting in parking the car.

Name of apartment was very similar to another on main road so directions should have been better. But when we rang to get directions, someone came out to main road to meet us, show us apartment and then show us where to park the car.
Breakfast was very good. Location was initially very difficult to find as we went to another apartment with very similar name.

The apt was amazing - very comfortable, spacious, and clean. The location was perfect for us. We had such a lovely stay. And many thanks to the team for sharing information about the town and making surf equipment available to us. We would love to stay again!

It was all great.
The accommodation was superb. Friendly and helpful management. Comfortable beds, a couch to sit on, lovely shower and great eco-friendly toiletries. And we loved having a small kitchenette to preset our own breakfast. Also having access to a washing machine and dryer was a huge bonus.

The location was brilliant - just a few steps from the pier. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were cleaned every day. Three generations of our family travelled for a wedding and we couldn't have chosen better accommodation. Thank you Apartmentos mundaka Surf Camp!.

Would have liked a clothes horse to dry swimming togs, but there WERE washing and drying facilities if I had wanted to use them.
Great location in town and near port. Lovely family run place. They were extra kind to my elderly Dad and gave him an upgrade to a wheelchair-friendly apartment. Great local restaurants and pinxo bars.
