How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The parking cost is not mentioned anywhere and at the end they just charge with it.
The hotel is great room was clean, very big, we have had a long day so it was the perfect place to stay. Great pressure in the shower and the breakfast buffet is amazing, the reception personnel was not either friendly or unfriendly they just get the job done. The buffet personal was great.

Nothing we did not like.
My wife and I stayed for one night at the NH Gran on our way from Spain to Portugal and the hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was of a very generous size and was well fitted out. The cleanliness of this hotel was exceptional. It smelt and was clean. Staff were very friendly with reception staff a standout in taking a little time to explain the sights of the city and to mark a few things on a map for us. It was very much appreciated. Lovely stay and recommneded.

Tub was weirdly hourglass shaped and not comfortable.
Friendly staff. Spoke English and portugese. Nice room. Loved the privacy of the restroom area.

Fantastic hotel, amazing food at Mirador restaurant, professional staff, always a pleasure staying here. Fun at Casino and Bingo. The location of the hotel is perfect.

The NH Gran Hotel Casino is a real favourite with us. The staff are really welcoming and very friendly. The rooms are great and so is the food. The location is excellent too.

Maybe some feedback for Manager reflection, the breakfast to be included is a bit expensive in my opinion but anyway it should not be a reason to not book in the Hotel as all other aspects are flawless, highly recommended Hotel.
The Hotel is very fancy, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is super friendly, it also has a cool Casino on the ground level and a cool bar where you can drink and eat.

There was nothing I didn't like, everything was top.
The facilities are excellent, the room was quiet (with a nice view of the Guadiana river) and the location was also very good (close to the bridge that leads to the old town). But the highlight was the amicability and professionalism of its staff, particularly DAVID at the reception who went out of his way to give us a nicer room and much earlier than the standard check-in time. This is the attitude that differentiates certain hotel staff from others, and DAVID's attitude in pleasing the customer is rated at the top of his profession. I congratulate NH Extremadura for the quality of its staff, as represented by DAVID.

No view of river or rain shower as advertised in superior room.
Pleasant staff. Good facilities & cracking breakfast. Bar and restaurant prices very reasonable for a 5 star hotel.

Everything was tip top
NH Hotel was an Awesome stay totally nailed it on all categories. Especially front desk with their professionalism, friendliness, respectful. Couldn't have ask for more. Put us in a very relaxing, comfortable and extremely unstressful.

This is a great hotel. It is conveniently located for travellers heading to or from the Algarve. The staff are excellent, the rooms are great, the food is great particularly the breakfasts. Car parking is on site and very easy to use.
