How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

This is not fault of the hotel at all. But be warned: pretty well everything in Caravaca was closed on a Sunday and we had difficulty finding a place to eat in the evening. Monday was no better.
Location was good. There was also plenty of parking. The building is a former convent (hospederia) and at first seems basic. Bit its simplicity was the point. Good value for money. Very good breakfast.

All was peaceful when we arrived but then be aware that this is an active monastery and you can hear church bells and whatever that loud instrument is during their mass or singing. It was from 7pm to 9pm when we were there. Suddenly it was peaceful again from 9pm but guests from the next room just arrived maybe midnight and was not that considerate. Talking so loud and then we can hear their TV too. And it’s like from the upper floor someone was also walking in heels and moving furnitures at midnight! I was awake until 3am. I had to put some towels at the gap of the door for a bit of sound proofing. Maybe just a suggestion for the staff to spread out the guests since it was not even fully booked when we were there. And to please remind them to be quiet and mindful when it’s late at night as people just wanted to have a good night sleep after a long drive. Thanks.
The staff was so friendly, nice to have a free parking and a short walk to the Basilica. There is a fridge downstairs that you can store your drinks and food.

Very nice place full of history, where you can feel the spirit of the convent, as it is still a living monastery and the hotel at the same time. Although it is located in a stricty city centre it has got a huge garden and a private parking lot just in front of the main entrance. And a church nearby. Lovely place to stay. I would like to come back there another time.

Absolutely delightful stay after a hard day's cycling. Basic but spotless accommodation. I found it a privilege to stay in this gem, staffed by welcoming and charming people. It's not often you get shown how to use the coffee machine by a monk :-)

All good really not luxurious but ideal for a single night
Quirky old convent now a rural hotel. Still has some monks working there. Parking outside and friendly staff. Great restaurant close by called el Cason de les Reyes recommended by staff. Good value for money and super clean.

Although the price was good, the breakfast was a bit basic (mostly preserved foods and juice).
A very good place to stay! Kind and helpful staff, very clean and comfortable room with all you need for a good stay, beautiful location, very calm.

When I tried to pay, I was asked for identification, I had my Spanish driving licence which shows my NIE, they did not want to accept this. I also showed my health card. It was very difficult getting them to accept payment.

Very plain surroundings and cold floor but yeah, it's a monastery xD

There is nothing here not to like!!
Great location within Caravaca de la Cruz. Beautiful monastery with well maintained gardens, very very friendly staff fabulous breakfast. The monks and fathers who run the property are lovely people and in no way try to evangelise. There is a great souvenir shop a small church and another chapel and lots of history including information on Juan de la Cruz and Teresa de Avila. I thoroughly recommend both Caravaca and this Hotel.
