How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Great little hotel right in the heart of Malaga; brilliant staff, fab fresh breakfast. Hotel goes extra mile by offering a nice cozy lobby with complimentary sweets and a selection of fresh herbal teas(not teabags!); good decor too. Picasso museum just on a corner

Perfect location in the heart of the city. Quiet room with lovely amenities. Fabulous breakfast and lovely extras like the tea station in the lobby with biscuits and candies . The staff were fantastic and always available to help with directions, assisting with reservations and booking transport

Superior room was quite small and hot - our air conditioning wasn’t very effective which had it been any warmer would have been a big issue. We had a room overlooking the street at the front of the hotel which was very noisy at night/in the early hours of the morning.

We detected a strong sewer like smell that neither the opening of windows nor the functioning of the a/c could quite clear out.
We loved the location and all the flexible accommodation options. The apartment hotel room we stayed in was beautifully decorated.

Unfortunately, not the hotel's fault but you can't be in the middle of a buzzy area and not have noise at night. We were there Thursday to Sunday and noise from the local bars went on until well after 3 in the morning, so sleep was disturbed to say the least. However, you can't have it both ways!
Comfortable hotel in a great central location, easy walking distance to the main sights. The area is full of restaurants and was clean and busy with a great buzz. The hotel itself was nice, clean and comfortable with friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent.

It does seem like there is some water damage on the wall connecting to the bathroom. This seems somewhat of a natural consequence of a large jacuzzi in a large bathroom. Perhaps the ventilation in the bathroom could be improved. But aside from that the cleanliness and hygiene was impeccable.
The hotel fulfilled our special request before our arrival. All the staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful. The amenities in the hotel (24/7 coffee, tea, sweets, cookies) were amazing. The breakfast was so fresh and delicious with a generous amount of time. The bed was so wonderfully comfortable and the jacuzzi in the room was a really special treat for us.

We experienced some issues with with hot water temperature in the bathroom which maintenance struggled to fix.
A very clean and comfortable hotel with excellent breakfast bar. The staff were friendly and helpful.

My only challenge was that there was no availability in the spa when I was there, but then that's my problem for not booking earlier.
Amazingly friendly staff. Great location. I appreciated the guest lounge with free teas on the ground floor. Lovely location. The room was practical and well-equipped with a very useful minibar.

The shower didn't maintain a consistent temperature or pressure. It would go from very cold to very hot instantly and did result in a few unpleasant moments getting ready for the day.
The staff were great, the rooms were great, the small touches of candy and teas were great. We didn't try the café, but smelt awesome. The location is great with many things to see and do near by.
