How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Although it was very clean , the room was very tight for 3 persons, i could see 2 adults and a child but 3 adults was tight. We had fresh new towels on the 2nd day. My mattress was too soft
It was right in old downtown close to everything . The room was surprisingly quiet for being in a pedestrian location

Great location, nice complete clean room, even a mini bar! Good wifi, good shower, lots of cupboard space. It's in a busy street, but our room was in the back, so no noise from outside. Friendly owner! We had a great stay.

Absolutely no space -- anywhere. Room was barely navigable for 3 people with tiny luggage (3 beds, so it was meant for 3). Nowhere to stand. And no lobby or anything -- just walk into a slightly grungy-feeling apartment which has been turned into tiny hotel rooms. Just a tiny hall with doors leading off it. Weird. And quite expensive for what it was!
Location is amazing. Other than that, it's clean. And has a bathroom. So it's fine and livable.

The room is correctly described, small room, double bed, tv, fridge with drinks, tv, shower room with tray of goodies, shampoo soap tissues dental kit enough for a few days away. White bedding and good towels, including a large bath towel. In the heart of the old town, with all amenities near by. Couple of minutes walk from the beach, underground parking and free shuttle bus to park and ride 10 mins walk near the station. Host very nice, I’d recommend for a few nights.

The bed was a bit too soft - I prefer a firm mattress, but that’s just personal preference.
The location! It’s so well located in the old town. I loved that they’d lend us sun parasols and beach towels - great service!

It is a fantastic location in the old town, in the centre of the Pintxos bars, and also very quiet at night/ early mornings. The room was comfortable, clean and we woke to the sound of birds chirping and the smell of baking breads and pastries, without any traffic/ labourers noises. Our host Juan was very helpful and provided a wonderful guide to his city as well as help with orienting us to the Basque culture and language.

room was very small for myself and my daughter who were sharing- very small window which faced a concrete wall no tea coffee facilities in the room no kettle for a cup of tea in the morning found it a bit claustrophobic and no natural light.
it was safe very clean and staff were very pleasant and helpful. right in the old town walking distance to everything. great location.

The only thing I would change is to provide a kettle in the room. There is a bakery just around the corner however if you like a morning tea or coffee so it wasn’t a big deal!
You are right in the old town. It’s a basic property but when I go away I’m out all day exploring so all I want is a clean & decent shower & bed. The room was spotless & there was a well stocked mini bar in the room. Lots of hanging space & hangers to unpack for a few days.

Very small. Tv difficult to use. Only one toilet paper roll and yet the fridge stocked with drinks which we didn’t need or use. Shabby.
