The breakfast isn’t a buffet style. And choices are a little limited. However, it’s freshly prepared and the coffee is very good. Maria goes out of her way to make sure you have all you need, and is very cheerful, given the early hour. I was surprised, however, to find that in my suite there was (1) no complementary bottled water and the tap water tasted very heavily chlorinated (2) there was no fridge or minibar (3) no tea or coffee making facilities Also, although the floor area of the suite was very large, I was constantly banging my head on the roof beams.

The staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The owner agreed to move the breakfast offering to a half hour earlier so I could get to my ferry crossing in plenty of time. The ‘suite’ (room 8 on the top floor) was very comfortable. Dinner was fabulous, featuring local fare which was very well prepared and MOST REASONABLY PRICED. I chose the most expensive dishes on the menu, ate four courses, drank a bottle of Moët et Chandon (it was my birthday) and the bill, with an aperitif and coffee to follow, was under a hundred euros. Any ‘normal’ person would spend a LOT LESS The location is way outside of town. So if you want to sight-see in Santander I’d recommend you stay nearer the centre. HOWEVER, if you’re just staying overnight to catch the ferry to the UK next day it’s ideally located. In light traffic you can make the journey in 20mins. One local road, one short blast down the motorway, turn right once the motorway ends, and you’re there. There’s ample parking right outside, a lively bar frequented by locals, and quiet seating areas.

This property has it all: location, amenities, food, staff is wonderful.

The property is absolutely stunning. Beautiful gardens and vines drape over the entire home. There are little trinkets and pieces of vintage furniture throughout the property. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and very large. You will feel at home here.

No dislikes - all positive experiences for us.

Posada is full of character with small garden courtyard. Additionally there is an auberge being part of the same building which is obviously very popular with the locals both at lunchtime and in the evening. It is therefore suggested that reservations for meals are made in advance. Altogether a real Spanish experience with great hosts making for a very enjoyable stay.

I was not the main guest, and the booking was made for my friends couple, but they had a great and comfortable one night stay and left really happy. However I was the one dealing with the reception and the attention I´ve got was very detailed, friendly and warm. The room looked very pretty and authentic, not to mention the wonderful garden of the posada! Location is great too, it is a short walk to the city center and the beach.
