Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SlovakiaTo point out some downsides to our trip. Since our visit was before the main season, there was a lot of work around the hotel. Cleaning + painting the pools, fixing some balcony tiles (mornings were a bit loud), paiting the main lobby and so on.. But I guess this was the right time for it. In any case, after breakfast we left the hotel and went discovering the island. So it didn't trouble us much at all.
Every day we woke up knowing a great breakfast selection awaits us. Plenty of tables and an outstanding view of the sea. Regular shuttle buses to the beach and Centro Comercial Martiánez. The hotel is situated very close to the allfamous Loro Parque. Also liked the option to skip room cleaning for the following day in exchange for a coupon for 2 drinks.

HungaryThe thing I did not like is the fact that the hotel itself is a bit old school and had possibly better days 20-25 years ago. However it is kept clean and well maintained except the room card issue as the old magnetic cards are pain in the neck.
Super friendly staff, great location for daily trips. Clean rooms. Seaview...and good breakfast.

HungaryWe received an ocean view room. I asked for a garden view room, because I read that the wind is terrible at the other side… the view is very nice, but the NOISE is terrible. If you are a light sleeper, prepare earplugs. It is windy and you can hear the ocean. On our last day the wind and rain got so bad our room got flooded (no the windows were closed) So if noise disturbs you NEVER get an ocean view room. It is truly terrible even with earplugs I could hear it. My husband was okay with it. Just be prepare.
Dario, the animation team (well it is only him) created fun activities, so my son enjoyed the evenings as well. During our stay the staff looked after us in terms of having gluten and dairy allergy. We received gluten free bread and when asked they prepared bacon for us - because on the second day we realized they put BREAD?!? under the bacon… so when asked they were helpful. Also it is a good idea that if you do not want your room to cleaned that day you get complimentary drinks. Mini golf was fun as well. Also Loro park is in walking distance.

PortugalFood, beds, sound of see and winter.
This is a fairly old hotel right on the seashore. We had a room overlooking the sea - and at night it was terribly noisy. The terrace windows knock when there is a gust of wind - as was written in many reviews. There are no double beds in the rooms - it is unclear why, and we had to fasten two regular beds together and fill the hole between them with pillows to get something like a normal bed. But the worst thing is sleeping on the sofa - it has a terrible iron mattress and sleeping on it is simply torture. My daughter tearfully refused to sleep on it from the second night and had to let me do it. Food - breakfast is a simple standard buffet, the juices in the machines are chemical, but there are no others. Dinner - you won't have anything interesting. No seafood or interesting fish. Every day it's just a different stew and fish. They change but nothing tasty. There is no grill. What's good about the food is quite a lot of fruit. But on the last evening, we simply didn’t know what to take - we were simply tired of stewed meat and vegetables. The hotel is well located - next to the hotel is the famous LORO Park and it is definitely worth a visit. The best feature of the hotel is the large heated pool with a temperature of 26-27, which is why we chose it. But we wouldn’t come a second time.

NorwayThe biggest negative with this hotel was the loud noise on the sea-side from winds and waves (louder than you would think). It was not a problem for me or kids, but my wife needed earplugs to sleep and sometimes I'll admit it felt very severe. With a thicker and better glass door this could probably be fixed. Also note that the terraces on that side are pretty much always in shade and not a welcoming place to sit. The hotel is a bit worn and the cards for the elevators don't always work which leads to both funny situation with fellow hotel guests and mild frustration.
The staff are amazingly helpful and welcoming! It made all the difference. We ate breakfast there every day and it was fine with a good selection. The view out on the sea from the eating area is inspiring. The best thing about this hotel, along with the kind staff, was the large heated swimming pool and the outdoor area. The kids loved the minigolf. Loro Parque is just a five minute stroll from the hotel and was a fantastic whole day experience for the entire family.

United KingdomPoor Wi-Fi, outdated small tv, cleaner did not replenish soap and toilet paper and had to call for it. I think these are some really small things but can help them be at par with some of other great resorts if they take care of it
Property is amazing and staff were very nice. We really loved their hospitality. The rooms are bit outdated and set in old style which is fine I think. An old style room is acceptable to most people but I thought they could upgrade their television which was pretty outdated. We had the standard sea view room. Another issue was Wi-Fi, it was pretty poor. But everything else we liked. We really enjoyed the food and hospitality by the chef and kitchen staff. There was a helpful tourism desk, they helped us plan all our sightseeing. Reception staff were great and helped us with whatever we needed. We stayed during the new year time and resort threw an amazing new year party. We were quite impressed with how much work and planning they did for new year party and the following day extending breakfast to lunch hours . Overall it was great experience for us and we will be happily recommending the resort to our friends.

DenmarkKeyless accesss cards often didn’t work in the elevators and room doors. This system is too old and worn out and shall be upgraded. We have experienced old people travelling up and down on elevator until you give them access to thier floor by you card.

HungaryThe noise insulation of the balcony door was poor, so you had to fall asleep to the noise of the waves breaking on the shore, which is a first world problem, but if you are a bad sleeper, this could be a problem.
It was right next to the ocean. There is a Lidl in comfortable walking distance. Parkin was available.

BelgiumThe wifi is really bad. On the 16th floor, could barely get a signal. Also, the mattresses in the beds are pretty hard. Depends on your preference, but isn't the best. Some elevators had trouble reading the card to get to your level, so that also needs replacing. It's a hotel where 60% of the guests are old german retirees, which isn't "bad" per say, but should be kept in mind for the general "vibe".
The room was very spacious, the hotel well situated, right by the sea side. The pools, gardens, mini golf and gym were all there, easily accessible. There was even a grand piano in the pool bar that I could play on, which was really great. The breakfast had many different options, although the variety of cheeses proposed was quite poor. But given that the hotel was mostly full of german retirees, I can understand. Germans aren't great cheese lovers.

United StatesLimited dining options in the area. The hotel doesn't have any dining options other than buffet breakfast and dinner. We were scolded by the bartender for eating some snacks down at the large lounge even though the lounge didn't have any snacks and the buffet dinner wasn't opened yet.
Big sprawling resort with lots of activities and amenities, even though they are somewhat faded glory from what I imagine this place was like in its heyday. Great views of the ocean and rocks. Very quiet... can listen to waves breaking on the shore below all day/ night. Entire staff was very friendly and helpful (except grumpy bartender at lounge/ pool).
