Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelarusThe room is so small that you cannot go in the bathroom without hitting your companion. The beds are not very comfortable. The hotel's inner walls are probably made of paper since you hear everything.
The location is good, it's the very center of Madrid. However this is not the main street but an alleyway of it, so it's not very noisy.

United KingdomUnfortunately, we found the Hotel has one major flaw. There does not seem to be any soundproofing whatsoever.Yes, the Air Conditioner does provide some background `white noise` but it can`t drown out the noises from the adjoining rooms or from the passageway outside.(There was a fair gap under the door of our room which we solved by placing one of the bolsters along it) For two nights of our stay in particular, we were kept awake by the noise from adjoining rooms. Our last night, particulary, saw us unable to sleep due to the children in,we think, Room 210,running amok in the early hours causing my girlfriend, who is rarely demonstrative or confrontational,to thump on their wall and yell at them to shut up! (Fortunately, that worked) I could hear the next door toilet flushing and shower running as if there was no wall between us at all. When we do City breaks, we walk our legs off all day long and look forward to returning to our room after dinner and drinks for a good sleep.Sadly, this would only have been possible if we had brought noise cancelling headphones. A real shame.
The Hotel location is brilliant, just off Grand Via and within a short walk from the main City centre attractions. We rated it as one of the best located Hotels we have stayed in over the years. The staff were fantastic. There was a problem with the safe in our room (308) but the girl on duty locked our valuables in the Hotel safe and our safe was repaired by the time we returned from our days exploration. There were major events taking place in Madrid over the weekend and on the day we were leaving (12/05/24) but the Hotel ensured we were kept informed and the Receptionist on duty (We didn`t get his name) could not have been more helpful in advising us and ensuring we got a Taxi to the Airport in good time. Other nice touches included there being a welcome card and water in our room when we checked in and one day we returned to find the Hotel had given us a complimentary plate of fruit. There is even a lift from street level up to Reception to save people having to carry their cases up the entrance steps. All in all, we were delighted with the Hotel, aside from one issue I will address in the `What didn`t you like` section.

SingaporeHotel only provides 2 hand towels and 2 toothbrushes for 3 people staying which the receptionist said was their standard procedure. But payment taken was 3 adults. Room was a bit warm but if you open the window, noises from the road and conversations below could be heard loudly.
Spacious and bright room. Bed was high and comfy. Location is good for shopping. Many nice simple shops for eating. It's my 2nd time in Madrid. Spanish people are nice & friendly. Efficient too.

ItalySome areas of the hotel have been renovated while others have not, the same happens with the room, where there's a contrast with a modern and renovated bathroom and a "vintage room".
Very kind staff, offering a 24/7 reception service. The hotel is in a central position, in the heart of Madrid. It offers spacious rooms, with renovated and well equipped bathrooms. Very comfortable bed with pillow choices.
