How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There was no hotel-directory available in the room with information about the hotel facilities, like opening hours for the swimming pool, how to use the depositbox, etc, etc.
A large, modern hotel with meeting room facilities and parking available. The room was spacious, with a large bed and excellent mattress, in-room bathroom/toilet, airco, refrigerator, large screen TV, deposit-box in the room for valuables (though we could not make it work). There is a large swimming pool, but since it is not heated, it was too cold to go swimming on 19 May 2022. But what we liked foremost was the EXCELLENT breakfast buffet at Euro 9,10 excl. tax for TWO!

Hotel is 4km away from center in a nice and silent area. Very, very friendly crew at reception (thanks Eve & Miriam for the lighter and umbrella) same for crew from restaurant and breakfast. Rooms big and well cleaned.

Starting with the staff at the check counter until the last detail of the room it was a very pleasant experience and highly recommend this hotel. the breakfast is very generous and full of different options, and once again the staff at the buffet has been very helpful and cheerful. A must if you stay in Compostela or nearby.

The only thing i could say i don't like it's after the first day the tooth paste wasn't replace it for new one.
The staff is the best of the hotel by far, helpful, friendly and polite. The room also is good for the price clean and confortable.

Unfortunately the pool was not open, only during summer. Would have been good to put this on booking too. 40 minutes walk from the cathedral of Santiago, so not in the center of the city

There is nothing that we didn't like. Pity we couldn't stay longer.
After completing a section of the Camino, staying in hostel accommodation for 4 nights our stay at Oca Puerta del Camino Hotel was heavenly. Beautiful big comfy beds. The hotel was immaculately clean and offered an exceptional buffet breakfast. So much fresh fruit included. We were lucky enough to be offered an upgrade to a suite which was just amazing. Wonderful friendly staff. Nothing was a bother. Highly recommended.

just be aware that’s it’s approx 35/40 minutes walk from the cathedral, which might not suit everyone. it’s a bit pricy but it’s good.

Breakfast wasn’t so tasty. But the friendliness of the reception staff made me overlook this.
Super friendly staff, rooms had everything from razor to toothbrush and toothpaste. They also let me keep the electrical plug converter. Class gesture.

Everything was perfect and I wish I could have stayed more but definitely I will make another visit. The staff were super helpful especially one lovely lady was very helpful and made our travel much easier by calling the COVID test centre to arrange a test for us and booked us early appointment. I forgot to mention that the hotel was very clean and especially we had small kids I was worried at the beginning but after seeing how clean it was , we were very happy.

Dogs aren’t allowed in the breakfast area (only the patio) - which is just a slight inconvenience as you have to walk around the building to bring your dog there. We were on the end room and when it rained we got a bit of rain into our hotel room. Again, nothing horrible but my shoes were a bit wet the next morning.
