How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We had a junior suite which while big I believe could have been laid out differently to make it feel more like a suite rather than just a big room
Great location and good facilities. Especially liked the gym and bar area. Front desk and bar staff were excellent as we needed help with several issues such as scheduling trains.

The hotel was in a great location; it was clean and we had a lovely quiet room with comfortable bed. Breakfast was included; really good variety of Continental and hot food. We could also order cooked food. The staff were exceptional friendly and welcoming. We had a late flight home and the staff kept our luggage and arranged that we could use a courtesy room to shower and change before heading for the airport.

We booked a 5* hotel with swimming pool, and thought as a 5* we would have a warm swimming pool + rooftop bar. Unfortunately the rooftop bar was never open and the pool was not heated. We could never get a drink for example and when there were a lot of people, the towels were not changed or added. For that amount of money, we expected at least some water near the rooftop and swimming pool.
I loved the staff and breakfast! It was amazing :) The room was quiet and the coffee machine was very nice. Housekeeping did a great job!

Rooftop pool area was a little disappointing with not enough sun loungers/parasols and often the bar was closed which was a shame in the mid-late afternoons when we were relaxing around the pool area. We had to chase for water in the room every day as we were forgotten.
Booked Premium rooms which were lovely and spacious . Bar/lounge areas were great. Had a la carte and buffet breakfast which had excellent choices, though service was often slow with our dishes brought separately to the table and often like warm. Bar staff were excellent and very attentive.

Doors of the bathrooms were awkward, making entry into the shower cramped. My wife stubbed her toe there. Also, why are there no racks for hanging used towels?
Breakfast was typically good. Location superb!

The walls are thin, and noise from the neighbors can be heard through the room door as well. The street noise is also very loud. The towels are old and not soft. These are not acceptable in a five-star hotel.

No information in the room about hotel facilities and breakfast times, check out times etc. For a 5 star hotel details were lacking
The quality of breakfast is very good but the set up is poor. There was a lack of staff working and no information about where things were and what the system was to order food. Plates and drinks were often empty and were replenished only when staff were asked.

Fabulous hotel in the centre of Seville and in walking distance of all tourist spots. Breakfast was amazing and staff were very helpful in providing anything we needed and organising taxis.

Great hotel in a central location for exploring the city. Very clean with modern interiors Fantastic breakfast, multiple options to choose from.
