Location was convenient to nearby towns and wineries in La Rioja. The staff were very accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The morning breakfast buffet was delicious and generous in terms of variety of items offered and quality of food. The dinner at the Michelin Star restaurant was amazing. The rooms were very comforable and generous size. Overall a great experience. And as far as the staff they were all top-notch, especially Maria!

The English guy who asked for the music to be turned down at breakfast…really? And hot water with the tea bag on the side?? The staff handled it well!

Interior design, attention to detail, complimentary wine and water, toiletries. The staff were super friendly and suggested the 2 wineries we visited which were excellent. Location was amazing

Not so much didn’t like but Need to know where going to dine, restaurant in hotel is excellent and would recommend , a few tapa bars local however it is a small beautiful medial town so needs some planning

Superb hotel, very stylishly designed with lovely small detailed touches and a great spot, fabulous linen/bed and room was excellent, limited private parking but also road parking available Also dined one evening, very good food. Town is small but delightful, a few tapa bars in square. Only 1 taxi in area though . Had amazing small terrace with stunning views

The hotel is beautiful designed and great choice of materials. The room is spacious and the 200 x 200 bed sleeps amazing. Nice breakfast and friendly and helpful staff. There is a good restaurant inside the hotel, which is convenient if you don’t want to go out and drive. Will definitely come back when we visit La Rioja again.

Loved this hotel. Staff was super friendly. Rooms were huge with great service. Restaurant was Michelin rated but very reasonably priced. We opted for a wine tasting in the cellar and Christian was wonderful-- very well versed in the local vineyards.

Only thing that could have improved our stay would have been a slightly larger room with brighter lighting in the corner. We'll know next time!

In principal nothing. Just the downlights in the bathroom does not make your face look nice. So just switch on the uplights. In the toilets downstairs already bowl luminaires are integrated in the mirror, great light!

Great hotel with exceptional architecture and interior. We liked especially the bathroom and the solid wood wardrobe with light inside. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The dinner in the restaurant was very good and also the breakfast on the terrace was high quality food with a great variety. Santa Maria Briones is definitely the place to stay in Rioja.

Hotel Santa Maria Briones is beautifully stylish and every comfort has been considered, attention to detail is second to none. The staff are wonderful. They really want you to have the best stay possible, make recommendations on the local area and make every little arrangement for you from restaurant and taxi bookings to planning a whole day out. Nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant is divine and should surely have a Michelin star soon

No room service. The gym did not have water or ways to clean up your equipment after use.

The most comfortable bed ever. Oversized and with fluffy pillows. We wish we could have taken it home with us. Beautifully designed bathroom. Spacious room with large TV and sitting area. Convenient location to explore the Rioja region.

This was the 2nd time we have stayed at Santa Maria. We love everything about it. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the rooms are amazing and so quiet. The food in the restaurants is fantastic. This time we dined below ground in the wine cellar Calado, what an experience! Also enjoyed a lovely walk around the very pretty village with amazing views all around, stopping for a beer in the square. Don't miss taking a look inside the church....breathtaking! Didn't want to leave, but we had a ferry to catch from Santander. We will definitely be back.

From the moment we arrived we were treated like VIP’s. That continued until we (reluctantly) left. Being at a super modern hotel in a medieval setting was an absolutely unique experience for us. The dinner was sensational and the buffet breakfast was good as well. Will recommend your hotel to all of our friends and family. Have already praised you on Facebook. Thanks for making our too brief stay so memorable.

Restaurant was described as "gastronomique" but didn't live up to this, and was pricey compared to other meals we'd enjoyed in other gastronomique and Michelin star restuarants too elsewhere in Rioja. The narrow lanes you had to navigate up and down to reach the hotel
