The only addition which would have been nice in the rooms would be a full length mirror and a bit more storage, more coat hangers, drawers etc. A pool would complete the deal but this is not possible in the old town.

The hotel is well situated in the old town. There was a space for mum to park a mobility scooter and the lifts were always working. We had 2 rooms with a connecting door which was lovely. Good choice of restaurants at the hotel as well as nearby in the town. The staff were excellent, helpful, courteous and made our stay very special. They were very thoughtful and treated us like one of the family.

Cold beans every morning I had them and when I informed the staff they were cold they warmed them up and the rest of the food was cold when they brought the plate back

The location of the hotel and proximity to the beach wascexcellent. Breakfast could be taken outside the hotel and it is waitress service to order. Spacious room. Very friendly helpful staff. Fragrant hotel. Located on a lovely square with lots going on. Short walk to park the car. Lovely beach. Hotel has its own pub and a lovely rooftop bar.

As the square is so popular it can be quite noisy until around midnight. Firstly the sound of street musicians and latterly the sound of tables and chairs being cleared away.

The location was excellent as it at the centre of the best part of Estepona. The square is a popular location for having a drink or meal and to people watch.

We liked everything!

High quality upmarket experience. The accommodation itself could not have a better location, being situated on Plaza de las Flores, Estepona. The room we had overlooked the beautiful square itself and had a 'Juliet' balcony. The staff were friendly, helpful, efficient and were eager to assist, whatever the request. The food and drink 'offer' at the hotel was superb, and was provided through a range of bars/restaurants including a wine bar, a bistro, a breakfast room, an Asian/Fusion restaurant, a rooftop bar, a breakfast room and a pub. The quality of the food and drink was very high. The ambience of the hotel was also positively influenced by the standard of the materials used in the building itself, as well in the furnishings, fittings and sympathetic colour-schemes used.

The hotel is located in the centre of the historic district of Estepona in the Plaza del Flores. The room we occupied was spacious and clean. There were three restaurants, a bar and rooftop terrace within the hotel and we dined/visited each. The service was second to none. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel preferring to eat at one of the many nearby cafes. There is no parking at the hotel but plenty underground public carparks nearby. Although the hotel doesn't have a swimming pool there is a lovely beach with many dining options within walking distance.

Hotel El Pilar exceeded my expectations on all levels from check in to departure and I would highly recommend it if you are in Estepona old town, the location is perfect for exploring the town and surrounding areas. The rooftop bar provides stunning 360 degree views and has a great vibe The front of house team led by Sandra Ferreira deliver the highest standards of customer service on every level and nothing is too much trouble. If you are looking for a tastefully furnished boutique hotel in a great location then El Pilar ticks all the boxes. The rooms are well equipped and come with oversized fluffy towels and dressing robes, monsoon showers, quality bed linen and a good size smart tv.

The cooked breakfast wasn’t very good as the fried eggs were swimming in oil. The poached eggs on the last day were not cooked properly and I think that was deliberate as we were leaving early that morning and went into breakfast five minutes before they were due to open. The waitress was rude because of this and continued to be so until we left the dining room. There were people in the dining room when went in but we didn’t see them get the same rude treatment. This has left a lasting impression on us which is really disappointing.

The hotel was close to the restaurants and promenade. The reception staff and rooftop bar staff were very polite. It was lovely to have a glass of champagne on arrival.

Amazing hotel with everything you need. The location is superb at the main plaza of Estepona, the staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great and not expensive. The view from the terrace bar is spectacular. Perfect stay!
