Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaCar Parking in Caceres is a challenge, and whilst there is secure car parking near by, it is still about a 200 metre distance down/up hill to drag your luggage. If you are driving to Caceres, make sure you get very clear instructions from the host about how to drive to the Hotel and/or the Car Park. Then make sure you thoroughly check it out on Google Maps/Earth, as it is a maze of narrow 1-way streets there, and for us, the GPS insisted on taking us through pedestrian streets, only to then leave us with nowhere to go as the intersection the GPS saw, was now in fact blocked by bollards. To say driving in the area is tricky, is an under-statement. As for the apartment, the cleaning was a little hit and miss. There was still quite a bit of 'rubbish' on the kitchen and bathroom floors, and hair in the shower. The shower is also starting to get a bit blemished with mould. There is no kettle in the kitchen to boil water - we needed to boil water in a saucepan on the cooktop in order to make coffee.
The apartment is perfectly located. Whilst you are right on the edge of Plaza Mayor, it is not noisy at night. There are 2 ice-cream shops right near your front door - perfect in the hot weather. The buzzing shopping street of Pintores, is 2 minutes walk away. There is a great Carrefores Express supermarket in that street, about 100 metres away from the apartment. You are also only about 100 metres from the main Gate into the Historic Monumental City of Caceres. The apartment we had (one of the Luxury 1 bedroom apartments) was large and very spacious. Having the kitchen area separated from the lounge area was great.

SpainThere was just the bare minimum of kitchen utensils, not even a chopping board. The hob didn't work properly and kept switching itself off. The lock on the entrance to the building was broken. The washbasin tap was loose. I think the main problem is that nobody seems to be checking these little details, which is the difference between an apartment owned by a hotel chain and one with a private owner.
The apartment was clean and spacious, on the 3rd floor overlooking the Plaza Mayor with a lovely big terrace for sitting outside. It is in an excellent location for exploring this historic city. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and a Carrefour supermarket 50 metres away.

United KingdomGenerally everything was fine. The only minor grumble was that the second (sofa) bed was not made up. All the sheets and pillows were there ready for us to fold the bed out and make it but given that we arrived late after a long journey it would have been nice if this has already been done for us. I would also highlight that the apartment is 100m away from the hotel reception and both are about 300m from the nearest parking garage. P.S. Not a criticism of the apartment but you should be aware that the Plaza Mayor is busy and bustling square and can be loud late into the night (it's part of its appeal!). The lounge directly overlooks a corner of the Plaza and the bedroom is located above an alley just off it. The windows are double glazed with internal shutters and do a good job of blocking out the sound but if you'd prefer to sleep with the windows open you may find the noise bothersome.
The apartment is in a convenient central location is finished to a high standard throughout and was spotlessly clean. The bed in the main bedroom was comfortable if a little soft. The second sofa bed in the lounge is adequate but not very good. The bed linen and towels were good quality. The bathroom is a good size and well laid out. The kitchen is an okay size and seemed adequately equiped (we only stayed a night so can't really comment on whether it was well-equipped for a longer stay).
