Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe door does slam if you leave the window open so be mindful of this. Otherwise it’s perfect.

CanadaWe learned the hard way, that you don't leave food or crumbs on the counter or ants will come swarming from out of the nooks and crannies!
We stayed here in an "independent apartment" for 10 days in spring. Beautiful 17th century Manor converted to accommodation for up to 26 people in various large high-ceilinged rooms or small apartments. Country living with an orange orchard and 7 chickens/roosters roaming the property and one very friendly cat! Wake to the sound of myriad bird songs. Great views from all the windows, and lots of little surprises when you open or look through some windows, some of which are interior. Debra and Nicolas were amazing at showing us around and helping us out when we needed advice on the pellet -stove or help getting a taxi for us and 2 bikes at short notice. Our apartment was huge by European standards, with kitchen, bedroom, separate bathrooms and a large living/dining room. Bed was huge, and firm but not hard. There's a washing machine for guests' use, and clothing drying racks. The kitchen came equipped with everything we needed for cooking, including staples like salt, pepper, some sugar for coffee/tea, some dried herbs, a little oil, teas - probably left by previous clients - very handy!! Plastic wrap, foil, rubbish bags, extra toilet paper and cleaning supplies/tea towels. We used our bikes to ride to Petra to get groceries from the well-supplied small grocery store in the square. The apartment is serviced 1-2 times a week. Wi-Fi works well. Tons of books to read, in various languages, and boardgames. We didn't use the pool as the weather wasn't consistent enough. We'd definitely stay here again and highly recommend - great value!!

Nicolas & Debra are amazingly nice people. They welcomed me on arrival and were always there when I had a question or a problem. I could reach them by simply sending a whats app. My room was nice and quiet and I LOVED the pellet stove! :)

ItalyAC would be a great plus. Wi-fi isn’t the fastest, but works quite well in the main areas.
Stunning property in a less known area of Mallorca. The house is superb, the views are breathtaking. Nick is the best host ever, extremely friendly and ready to help without being too chatty or intrusive (side note: his scrambled eggs are also delicious!). Highly recommend for a relaxing stays in the countryside of the island.

NetherlandsMaybe one small thing to improve is the lightning. Particulary in the bathroom and bedroom we would suggest to use more “warm” yellow light, in sted of bright white light. It would suit better with the vibe you create in the room.
We really liked the relaxed atmosphere, the building is stunning and the area around it, the room was very spacious and the breakfast was delicious! Next to that the owners were very friendly! We would def. come back:)

SpainA very special place in a less known part of the island. The building's historical scent and incredible garden make it all. Nicolas and Rachel have been very helpful and we came back with a little legacy from the garden that we have planted at home :) Thanks for everything!

United Kingdomit’s an old Manor House. doesn’t have lifts, so it’s only accessible if you can go up stairs, and it doesn’t have air con so it gets a bit hot at times
it’s an old Manor House, it’s an amazing place, doesn’t get too busy , it’s a little oasis in the middle of the desert . Nick and Debra are just the nicest hosts I’ve ever met, you can do whatever you want , it’s really mi casa es su casa at son Sant Andreu . highly highly recommended if you’re trying to get away from the tourists

GermanyTL;DR: everything. Nicolas was super welcoming, met us even earlier that the check-in time and showed the property. It's a 17th century winery, you'll be impressed 100%! The view, chickens (order an omelette for breakfast!), fresh oranges and lemons (do your own orange juice!), fire place and our room. There're many more things, but to keep it short – if you travel by car it's a steal, highly recommend.
