How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. The only inconvenience it might be the wc located downstairs, but worthy it because everything around is really good 😊

I have no big complaints. May be a small one. My room did not have the Common European electric plug. It had the 3 circle one so I could not charge some of my electronics.
Excellent location, excellent staff and wonderful stay. Grill on terrace was fantastic. Had a great time! If you are a sceptic like me and wondering why the rooms are relatively inexpensive, that's because there is no direct window to your rooms to the sunlight. But the light from the terrace hits the room pretty well.

There is nothing not to like here....All good.
Excellent location beside the beach and all the restaurants, nice bright clean room with comfy double bed and a very welcome early Check-in.Good shower and well stocked kitchen.

Friendly, excellent facilities and very well organised, including a calendar of socials. Before booking, I saw some old reviews from years ago mentioned mold in an interior room but I wanted to update that there is none nowadays.

My room, had a double bed, but it was quite small in a fairly crowded house. There was not a bathroom, on the same floor as my bedroom. The wooden stairs leading to the bathroom on the floor above, were quite narrow.
Very good location. Friendly crowd of young people who were prepared to engage me, an older British man in conversation. Good Location Close to beach Close to shops, cafes, and restaurants. Close to Dino supermarket. You could pop out to the supermarket, and eat what you had bought in the kitchen. Very handy!

Everyone who worked at the Surf and Kite Nomad House was so nice & friendly, they organized events which was an easy way to meet other people, the location was perfect, and they had perfect rooftop terraces to work with a laptop or just chill, I would really recommend this place!:)

Great location, a minute walk to the beach. Great rooftop decks to hang out and socialize + pool table. Whole place was clean and nice. Great staff, friendly and helpful. Well equipped kitchen. Had a great time, would stay here again 😃

Kitchen was a bit dirty
All went well, I stayed only for one night in a private room, it was a clean and cozy, very comfortable bed. Very nice and friendly staff. Good wifi and also nice rooftop.

Room did not have a window, which we did not realise before, but otherwise, the room was big enough for 2, and our own shower & toilet were good.
Friendly and communal vibes. Good for meeting people. Excellent location.

That I only spent two nights there.
Great hospitality found here. I felt at home during my two night stay. I was taken a back a bit how clean it was. Volunteers are very friendly and go out of there way to make you feel at home.

The hostal is very well located, very close to the beach, supermarkets, and city center to go out at night. You can also rent surfboard at the hostal. You have 2 beautiful rooftop. The atmosphere is super nice with a great team which do everything in order that you feel comfortable. They organise events in the evening and at night. I highly recommend this place

Best hostel for meeting cool travelers I have ever been to. Tons of hang out space, two large terraces for hanging out, plus a living room with TV. Great staff, overall awesome vibe with lots of cool people around.

Didn't have window in a room.
Clean, big, separate small rooms, no 14-people bunk beds. Kitchen equiped better then in my own house. Personel is made form volunteers, who are very nice and warm and in the end of my stay I felt like in a friend's house more then in hostel. Localization great, close to the beach, place really has vibe.
