Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe outdated elevator, underwhelming food, and the lack of air conditioning in the rooms were notable downsides.
The breathtaking sea views, friendly staff, clean facilities, enjoyable bingo and games, a charming retro style, a nice pool, and beachside location were all impressive.

PortugalThe all inclusive scheme not worth at all. The food is not bad but nothing special. The drinks are from a tap machine, so juices and coffee are awful. The “all inclusive” only have 3 alcoholic drinks on the restaurant area during the meal, choice of drinks: draft beer and draft wine. Really disappointed with the all inclusive deal… Never again!
Staff very helpful. Location near shops, cafes and beach

LatviaThe hotel was built a long time ago. Only two elevators. Sometimes you have to wait a long time. The cost is too high.
The hotel is located not far from a good city beach. Very long and good embankment. There are places to wander around in the evening and look at the tourists. The hotel staff is very hard-working, helpful and friendly.

AustraliaWell it's not exactly my cup of tea but it was packed to the rafters with happy holiday-makers, which coincidentally is one of the reasons it is not my cup of tea, the packed bit, not the happy angle. Lots of Portuguese families, extending over 3 generations it seemed, a few couples and lots of kids enjoying the pool etc. But mostly families, a few young travelers. The bus to and from Palma (23 or 25 for 2 Euro cash) can take up to 50 mins depending on time of day as it services an extensive holiday strip, which feels like a Berlin or Munich entertainment district crossed with the seedier sections of Vegas ( but with no gambling as far as I could tell) with a preponderance of businesses with signs in Deutsch. There are few real commuters. The free, unlimited snacks, esp the "sandwiches" were ghastly but there were plenty of them. It had too much of a "cruise ship" feel for me but, as suggested, folk seemed to like it. Spanish pillows, like many of their cultural mores, are an intriguing riddle to me. Are these supposed to be comfortable? They are like a hair-shirt to me.
The front office people (god bless them), who, along with the 2 four-person lifts, get hammered from time to time with guests' needs. They were very easy-going, courteous and efficient. They solved some issues quickly and with a smile. Food wise, there is plenty of it. I was a half-boarder and found dinner better than b'fast. It's certainly not gourmet, but the guests chowed down gleefully from plates overflowing with carbs and kept turning up ( full board just seemed too much for me! You actually are NOT on a cruise ship- get out and explore!). The seafood paella appeared every night and appeared lacking in seafood. The coffee is quite bad. Just when I got addicted to their chips, they changed to mashed potatoes. What the?! The A2 bus comes straight from the airport ( avoiding Palma), stops close to Tal and costs 5 Euro, have cash handy. Regional buses accept credit cards and one has to explore the island. Plan ahead. I made the mistake of going to Cala Llombards on a Saturday in high summer. Must have been 10000 people there!

ItalyThe general evaluation of the Hotel is quite sufficient, but the price is very high in comparison with the low level of the services.
General medium low level in all: the room quite poor, the meals of scarse quality, the cleaning very superficial and the swimming pool not at all inviting.

CanadaThis is a party hotel, young Germans and some Brits going loud. Fortunately new all-inclusive rule dialed their partying down. Rooms are outdated, and in S'Arenal parking is tough. Also the buffet is a hit and a miss, Paella with macaroni 😕
Price was the motivator for this stay as Palma heats up so do prices.

United KingdomThe air con didn’t work in our room. The selection for breakfast and dinner was okay but not great, especially if you are vegetarian or vegan there were no options except salads. The staff were not welcoming at all and at times were just rude! Would not stay again.
Good value for money, but nothing special. The rooms were nice and clean though but beds weren’t the most comfortable. It’s ok for a short stay but wouldn’t stay longer than one or two nights.

Czech RepublicWhat I didn´t like is the neighborhood of the hotel, that actually tells you it is not the richest part of El Arenal. Of course it is not the hotels fault, but it is good to know that. The closer you get to the richer (and more German) part of the town the nicer it gets and the wider the sidewalks get.
The food is good, it is being topped up multiple times during both breakfast and dinner. There is plenty variety of food - for dinner there is usually some fish or other meat, something fried, paella, fruit, some pastry, a lot of fresh veggies... The food is well seasoned. For breakfast there is usually a variety of cheese and hams, eggs, a lot of pastry.. The room is as good for a cheap hotel as it could be. It is being cleaned daily (if you want to). The staff is really nice and you can ask them anything. The bus station to Palma is 10 min walk, and there is also a Lidl store maybe 15-20 min walk.
