How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Rooms are not fully soundproof with some noise coming in from the adjacent alley at night.
Newly renovated building with character. Nice but expensive Michelin star restaurant in the hotel. Good location for sightseeing.

The soundproofing between rooms and to outside is not good. Breakfast was a bit uninspiring, hot food on cold plates and a bit bland.
The location is very convenient for the old town and the Guggenheim. The staff particularly on the front desk were very welcoming and helpful. The parking although apparently quite tricky is straightforward if you follow the hotels instructions. The Warehouse decor style is a bit brutal in places but the rooms are pleasant.

Not alot, the only minor thing is it is located a little bit out from city centre but not by much 8/10min walk away
Building itself is beautiful and nice touches like a note and chocolates left in your room. The restaurant upstairs (Ola) is worth checking out and staff were friendly (especially the woman when we were checking out)

Check out brought the start of the tipping culture prevalent in North America. Despite the assurance it is voluntary it still feels like extortion. Prefer Europe doesn't fall into this trap.
Loved the hotel and the remarkable reno job. Great location on the edge of old town and right on the river walk. Check in went well despite some disagreement among staff about the ability to park short term in the pedestrian area. It is a little tricky finding the 'opening' to the street. Parking lot is indeed in sight of the hotel but not what you imagine by that statement.

From the moment we walked in, the staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. The design of the hotel is modern with a beautiful mix of architecture and design features from historical Bilbao. Having the cafe next door was very handy as well. I couldn’t recommend this hotel more. We’ll be staying here again on our next trip to Bilbao!

Problem with tv which turned itself off every 7-8 mins and had to be restarted We didn’t report it because it wasn’t a big issue for us
Location was excellent but the outstanding feature was the helpful cheerful staff for whom nothing was too much trouble

We really liked the hotel. If pushed to find a downside there could be more clothes storage space in the rooms ( a frequent issue). Also the bathroom sinks are shallow. Minor niggles only.
A great location for the old town. Well designed public areas. The hotel had a good atmosphere. It has a sensible balance between a boutique/designer type feel but being very practical and user friendly. Very friendly staff. Nice ground floor bar and breakfast room ( restaurant later on). Rooms are well designed. Reasonable sized bathroom. The breakfasts were very good with a bit of variety over the four days we were there.

Great location and staff was more than welcoming and knowledgeable of area and recommendations. Hotel is also extremely clean and very neat concept. Rooms were well proportioned, comfortable and quiet.

Loved the new versus old in regards to the aesthetic of the hotel as a whole and the rooms. The reception staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Lovely, clean room with balcony!

Put sign requesting for room clean when we left in the morning (before 11am). The room had not been cleaned by the time we returned 3.5 hours later (between 230 and 3pm)
Modern, well decorated facility. Very convenient and nice bodega on site for grabbing coffee, drink, food.
