Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNoise: they have metal stairs, which can successfully wake people up anytime during night - ways to sleep at night can be 1) pray hard at the Basilica to let you pass out at night 2) drink a bottle of wine 3)walk 9am-9pm tirelessly. If none of these are working, move out to another place to stay. Room - beautifully decorated "inconveniently." I moved the artificial plants on the floor to have room to place a book and others. BTW, only hope they know that a recent study shows that artificial plants become cancerous after 1 year of usage Bed - I couldn't feel much issues at the beginning but ended up with terrible back pain. Interestingly, another person met at the kitchen complained the same. (The pain improved after moving out to another place...yes, I moved out) Staff - very friendly for 5 mins (or maybe less than this). It is not hard to see their feeling of annoyance when questioned more than a couple of times. Surrounding - very interesting to have urine smell everywhere. Felt like I was walking in a huge toilet
Location : Stroll away from a bus stop (though bus drivers are not greatly friendly, in fact, quite wild. However, that was fine for me. It was inexpensive but convenient way to get there from a train station). There are several decent markets nearby as well. Mercadona at Plaza santo (400m away) and Mercado central de Zaragoza (850m: highly recommend for quality meat products including processed meats and fruits) Facility : they have a kitchen. I know some people don't like their kitchen, but I was happy with even with that. They have toaster, elec.kettle, microwave oven, air fryer and others. (Someone spoke about "coffee maker" to let all people get confused and searched for that. But, they did NOT have a coffee maker bit elec. Kettle only.) Room: initially clean but not cleaned at all during 3 nights of stay. Room - beautifully decorated Staff - very friendly

AustriaThe vibe in the hostel is not the best. It's so really welcoming and there are not many activities. Some of the staff members are really not helpful or nice Sometimes I felt a bit uncomfortable in the neighborhood as a woman.
Close to the center and the Aljaferia, which was nice. Some of the staff were really nice and were trying to help. In general it was good.

IndiaThe 6 bed dorm felt like a prison cell. The WC and shower are INSIDE the tiny dorm room. Would recommend the 12 bed dorm instead, which is far better.

SwedenThe street in which the hostel is located is a bit shady but no harm will come if you mind your own business. No one will try to bother you. The problem is that physical reception is from 10 AM and if you have rented anything like a towel/padlock etc. then either you have to wait for the person to arrive at reception before you check-out or you can forget getting the money back and check-out yourself.
The hostel atmosphere was good. The room/bathroom both were clean. Comfortable for staying. The hostel is near the bus stop.

IrelandIt's a little bit out & Google Maps didn't work great for me the whole time I was in Zaragoza. So took a while to find. Automatic lights in bedroom clicking on even when someone moves in the bed. Maybe a bit of soft music in the kitchen would increase the atmosphere.
Very Clean. Decorated lovely in fresh green tones - makes a change from a lot of loudly garnished Hostels. There was a lift.

AustraliaThe beds aren’t super comfortable but they did for the two nights. The Kicthen needs more equipment, I went and did a shop for food only to discover that there wasn’t even a stove top to cook but for some reason has 5 toasters.. a airfryer and two sandwiches presses. It needs more love.
It was a close enough location to the centre, it’s also easy to reach by public transport with good local bars surrounding the area

United KingdomThe area can be intimidating at night although I didn't have any bad experiences. There is rubbish on the streets locally. No 24 hour reception means arriving late as a single traveller is not pleasant. When the staff were there, they were lovely, but they are only available 10am to 8pm, which is the time you're likely to be out anyway...
Very pleasant place with good kitchen and lounge. Decent facilities in the dormitory. Fantastic bakery in the same street.

SpainI should say that last year I stayed as well at the hostel for 3 nights. I feel that the customer service has changed for worse. The young girl at the reception is just correct, no giving more help or longer answers than needed out of the check-in or check-out. She sent me to another hotel to keep my luggage for some hours after checkout and when I asked her if I was still on time to get my free coffee (I arrived late previous night) she said I could ask in the other hotel.
I like that is a brand new hostel, well designed, cozy and very well located. Rooms aren’t noisy at all and is very clean.
