Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing! But just a word of warning - the drive to the farm from the main road is on pretty bad roads... just need to be careful.
Lovely little find! Wish we'd stayed longer. The rooms are large and well done up. The shared kitchen is great and the views are incredible! We had a room with a private bathroom the was external, but this was just across the corridor so very easy to access.

FranceEverything was good, even the steep drive. However, the separation of the toilet/shower-room from bedroom was a bit of a nuisance.
Excellent - plentiful and fresh. Different every day and well-presented.

Czech RepublicNo AC, only fan, so hot in the summer. Comment on my girlfriend request - cat looks hungry, can't be fed and is supposed to catch frogs.
Beautiful place, nice room, billiard in common space, nice swimming pool.

United KingdomI booked less than 24 hours in advance and would not have done so if I had realised access to the property involved half a mile of driving down a steep unmade road. My car is old and I had to top up the brake fluid when I got to the bottom of the hill. (Thank you to the owner for helping me with this). I was so scared of having to do it more than once to go out for dinner and come back in the dark, that I decided I couldn't stay. I spent an hour and a half sitting by the pool, then left. The place was left immaculate by me, as I had found it, but sadly my request for a partial refund as a gesture of good will was refused. I accept it was non refundable once I had booked but feel the advert was misleading with no mention of the difficult steep access road. I have still given it a 10 for the actual property which is amazing.
This is a beautiful place in a stunning setting. The couple running it were very welcoming. The accommodation is separate to the owners house down a hill. There are several different guest rooms and a communal kitchen, dining and games room. The pool is on the edge of views across the valley with sunbeds. The small shower room was shared with other rooms. There are large windmills up the hill making some distant noise but nothing too bad.

United StatesThe location was phenomenal but more importantly we love the stay because of how hospitable the host was. Your house is extremely well-kept, organized, beautiful and our experience exceeded our expectations for so many reasons. The breakfast was absolutely worth it and it is a must so you must have it if ever at the wild olive! Private access to the pool with the most stunning view, it was a unique and beautiful farm which I would love to come back to and bring my entire family next time.

Czech RepublicWe absolutely loved Erin's and Wilco's amazing accommodation, the serenity, the views and the finca itself. Erin and Wilco were very accommodating and helpful. Initially we booked a room with no heating but prior to our arrival, Erin offered us the possibility to stay in another suite equipped with a pellet heater because the weather was very cold at the time we went there. We greatly appreciated this gesture. The room was very spacious, the mattresses were super comfy, the shower had great pressure. The common spaces were always impeccably clean, Erin stopped by few times a day to make sure everything was ok. We also loved the possibility of ordering freshly prepared breakfast from locally sources food, it was divine. There are some outstanding hikes in the area not far from The Wild Olive, the beaches are a 15 minute drive and the nearest town, Casares, is definitely worth visiting.

NetherlandsNothing for me it was the right place at the right time!
For me this place was like a dream! The property is so beautiful with amazing views. The bed was super comfortable and big and everything was clean. It’s in the middle of Estepona and Casares so when you have a car you can choose for a beach day in Estepona or a nice morning coffee in the mountain village Casares. So if you want peace and quiet for your moments at the accommodation but also want to be active (there are great hiking trials) and social moments, then don’t look for any other place, this is the one! I will definitely come back. Thanks for the great stay!

The location is a little paradise, with basically everything one needs. Perfect The host can’t be more helpful, Erin is born to do this. Nothing is too much for her, and she has all the time for her guests, and obviously should not forget to mention her husband who works hard to make the place what it is for all guests to enjoy their time while staying at the wild olive.
