How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything, its proximity to the central market, plazas de la Virgen and Reina and El Carmen. The apartment was spotless, with everything you needed. The reception staff were great and a big shout out to Jorge Castellon, who was really helpful and lovely.

Fabulous location in Valencia old town near to bars and restaurants and various old town attractions. Everything you require is provided. Excellent value for money with friendly, welcoming and helpful reception staff. Spotlessly clean. Would return again.

We could not park our (rental) bikes in the building. Street noises at night were somewhat loud, but also comes with the location.
Super location in a beautiful building. Well equipped apartments.

There were some problems with our showers but the staff were really helpful.
Staff were incredibly helpful at all times, they were really amazing. Nothing was a hassle or problem, which is a great bonus.

Cleanness of the apartment can be improved; comfort of the sofa bed can be improved as well - provide a separate upper sheet and duvet.

The smell of the plumbing in the washroom was strong.
The size of the apartment, the location, the way it was set-up, very easy to get the keys. It was very clean and we really appreciated the elevator. Well equipped too. Kind and helpful staff from Palomar Group.

The apartment was quite dark but that could not be helped. We would stay there again.
Comfortable bed. Great location. Very good wifi. Lovely shower. Nice big wardrobes. Had everything we needed. We were in a busy noisy area but the apartment we were in was quiet and we slept well.

There was some street noise on Saturday night but Sunday night was fine.
The location was very central really close to the central market . The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious, clean and beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay at Palau Palomar again next time we visit Valencia.

Not much to criticise! If I were to be extremely picky, a couple of small things to improve: 1) it'd be nice if the apartment had one of those luggage racks in the main bedroom so one can open up the suitcase (we had to put it on the floor). 2) In the room we stayed the toilet lid wouldn't stay up which was slightly annoying for the kids. All very minor though, we loved this place but thought I'd share! Thanks.
This place is an absolute gem. The apartment is at a stone throw from the Mercat Central and la Lonja, and super close from el Micalet and other lovely places. We're a family of four with two small boys, six and eight, who shared the sofa bed, which was big and comfy. The main bed was great too. The kitchen is all well stocked and has everything one might need. The staff communicated really well from the moment we booked up, and particularly Jorge at the reception was really friendly and helpful at our arrival. Big thumbs up!

One of the rooms was completely dark and had no daylight. The toilet wasn't flushing well.
