How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There is only one bathroom but advertised as two.

The accommodation is near the old town but does involve quite a few sets of steps.... wouldn't suit guests with poor mobility. Dogs next door quite territorial as houses are in a quiet cul de sac.
Beautiful apartment...so nicely decorated. Well equipped kitchen. Outdoor terraces with great views. Near the old town for restaurants and bars. Quiet at night.

Absolutely nothing.
Apartment was lovely, presented to an immaculate, high standard, with all amenities. Also has a nice balcony and roof top terrace to enjoy the sun and sea view. We were even welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine which was a lovely touch. Highly recommend.

These things didn't bother us but useful for others to know: twin bedroom is an internal room. Stairs from entry level (bedrooms/bathroom) to upper level (living area) are steep. The apartment requires good mobility as it is uphill and there is a flight of stairs to reach it.
Lovely apartment on different levels. Gorgeous decor. 2 outdoor seating areas/terraces with fabulous views. Comfy beds. USB ports available for charging phones etc. Quiet area but only a few minutes walk from the old town and the beach. Host was very accommodating allowing us to check in an hour early.

The property is very stylishly decorated, in a excellent location and just lovely. The roof terrace is super and great views and the host could not have been more welcoming.

One thing that we were not prepared is that it is not possible to drive to the apartment. Location is fantastic - old town, but it means that we could not drive there. If arriving by taxi, then there is no issue at all. Again, host was very attentive and explained details about parking options.
Friendliness and attention of the host to all the details. The hosts provided extras that we did not expect - equipment for the beach, tablets for the washing machine and dishwasher, useful information and many more. Thank you! We just wish the host receives guests as good as hosts are, so that the apartment stays as great as it is now, and we can visit again!

View 4 U is an amazing property. It is very tastefully decorated with beautiful little touches in every room. It has absolutely everything that you could possibly need for the perfect holiday. The compact kitchen is fully equipped and everything is in perfect working order. The lounge area is very comfortable with a huge TV. The outside space is equally impressive with stunning views. The lower terrace offers some very welcome shade at times during the day and is perfect for morning coffee/evening drinks. The roof terrace is a little slice of heaven with stunning panoramic views of the sea ,city and Santa Barbara Castle and it has the sun all day long. It is well equipped with sun beds and comfortable furniture. The location is great with the beach, supermarkets and restaurants all a short walk away as is the entrance to the walk to the castle. It may not be suitable for a person with restricted mobility as there is a few flights of steps as you are walking up from the beach. The owner Kate is fantastic…she is so accommodating and helpful and was so prompt in replying to any queries. The apartment is a true gem. I would highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again.

It is absolutely stunning apartment in heart of Alicante on the side of St. Barbara hill overlooking the sea. What you can see on the pictures is what you actually get. Or even more. Cozy place furnished and decorated with great taste, equipped with all what you may need during even longer stay (iron and ironing board, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine, big tv screen, perfectly working Wi-Fi on every level of the apartment, anything you may need for a trip to the beach and so on). Plus, all is new, fully functional and well described. There are two balconies (one being actually a proper terrace) and the roof terrace, where you can chill and enjoy amazing sunsets. Access to the apartment by code, all instructions clear and provided prior to arrival. And last but not least, the Host, Katarzyna. Helpful and caring, ready to provide any info regarding the apartment, the neighborhood or Alicante itself. I would definitely recommend the place and would love to come back soon!

Well designed and arranged cosy apartament with an artistic touch. Full of heart and warmth. We really enjoyed the stay, willing to return... Located in the calm, old quarter of Alicante with a walking distance everywhere. The host extremely friendly and helpful. We can truly recommend it.

Perhaps amenities could be improved. E.g. there was t any shampoo or bathgel provided.
Style, comfort and location was amazing. We stayed for 3 night with two kids and simply loved it. Just be aware that it's steep walk from the beach but it is part of experience and worth it.
