Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe dishes in the apartment were not cleaned properly and sticky. The breakfast... Cheese and hams were ok and tasty. However, the buffet looked like leftovers. I am aware I eat a continental breakfast in a Mediterranean country and it is simply inefficient to put a lot of food on buffet's plates, especially in a low season, but I felt like I arrived 5 minutes before buffet closing. In addition there are very visible informations that it is prohibited to take the food outside of buffet (what is pretty obvious). I would recommend to buy food in supermarket 150 meters away and eat it on the balcony feeding seagulls 😉
The apartment has a small balcony that is a really nice place to sit and watch seagulls that are literally 50 cm from you. The apartment was big and comfy.

United StatesThe property was ready for guests, in our opinion. There were loose wires in the hallway and in the room and slips of paper indicating the room numbers. What we liked least was the big, glowing green light — about a foot wide and four inches high — above the door inside the room. It made it impossible for us to get a good night’s sleep. And that was on top of very audible noise from outside. Additionally, we absolutely should have asked to see the room before we paid. We’ll have to own that one. We were just given the keycard and told the floor.

CanadaThe male owner seemed so uptight about things. He wasn't friendly and you felt on edge around him. I would encourage him to be more trustworthy and friendly.
Location was fine.

Australiaan intimidating sign in breakfast room which said don’t take any food from here( in English and, Spanish) . as peregrinos often not have a big breakfast yet take a roll for lunch from breakfast! Our travel company said no cafe etc was open in our next overnight stop in Oia on Sunday. Well there is and one very very nice, just closed on Wednesday, A Combrai! Maybe in Hotel A Guarda they don’t know this as we felt uncomfortable with such intimidating signs assuming a client was going to take food , and had fingers shaken at us to indicate don’t take an apple ! better communication needed at Hotel would be helpful

United StatesWiFi security needs to be updated along with the available speed and continuous connection. Was hard to connect to. If needed the pizza place up the hill has super fast secure wifi, and good pizza.
Breakfast was laid out nicely for quick service. Various local foods were available. Great pizza place up the hill from the hotel.

United StatesUnable to sleep because a group of young people were talking in the street and men singing until 5 am. The hotel didn’t have AC. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless they can manage the noise.

United KingdomBit misleading with washing machine. There isn't one. You pay for a laundry service. If long term motorcycle travellers like us and need to do washing, don't let the info fall you about this. But that's all really.
Good place. Clean. Helpful staff. Very close to trega. Came with breakfast. Nice place in all really. Of great parking for motorcycles.

United KingdomThe lady was very friendly and offered us a handmade jam for breakfast, the guy however seemed indifferent.more variety for breakfast would be welcomed
Option to wash and dry the laundry (€12 per bag). I had understood the facilities were in the room, though the fee was reasonable so it was ok to pay 11

United StatesOur room was facing the front of other apartment complexes and early in the mornings (2-3 am) the younger adults would have conversations in front of their complex and the sound of their voices would echo loudly into our room. And being that you had to keep window open for cool air at night, it would wake you up.
The room was large, clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was modern and very clean. Large soaking bathtub that we didn’t get to use, and shower was large.
