Villa Las Palmeras was even nicer than the pictures shown. It was lovely to have the private pool and the gardens were stunning. A lot of thought had been put into all the outside relaxing areas. Altea old town was only a 10-15 minute walk away and small supermarket was on the way which was handy. Ilona was a great host and nothing was too much trouble, she helped when our prebooked taxi failed to turn up when we were leaving. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Nothing really. Not a criticism - just an observation - as is common in self catering apartments in this part of Spain, aside from what I mentioned as provided, there are no food items left for use - so basics like cooking oils, condiments need to be brought or purchased.

The photos of the property show its quality, but actually it felt a lot bigger than expected, and it is so bright and airy but still easy to keep rooms cool. The pool is not heated and once the summer weather kicks in it will be warmer. The pool area and garden are delightful and very spacious. Ilona is readily available to answer any questions or help with anything, including returning something to the UK that I had left behind. It is really easy to highly recommend this place. She also got in some essentials that we asked for plus a superb fruit selection. Nice soaps in bathroom. Quality towels and bedding. Altea is something of a foodies paradise. Ilona has listed some recommendations, some of which we tried and were generally good. A few notes about the vicinity - so not part of the property review, just there to be helpful. Took a while to find the nearest decent supermarket in walking distance - Unide - on Carrer Vents Vius - quite hard to spot. Friday and Saturday evenings are busy for eating in Altea so booking is fairly essential. On Ilona's recommended list we never got to Oustau, always full. Went to Crown of India twice - really good with a great terrace if you book in advance, though their hot is equivalent to a UK medium. Not on list is Carnicero Loco on the square near the viewing point - absolutely superb steaks and ribs. Beach front eating generally not same standard as old town. Lara Cars at Alicante for car hire brilliant - really simple. Enjoyed day trip to Valencia - underground car park by market easy to get to - Aparcamiento Centro Histórico - Mercado Central. We to Valencia, early start is recommended to get to all the key sites. St Nicholas church amazing, much better than cathedral. Went to Denia - is ok - large marina - but doesn't top Altea. Give Calpe a miss unless you need a sandy beach.

Having to leave!

Everything! The outside area was amazing! Beautiful views, a good size pool & different areas to relax in. Eating meals enjoying the mountain, sea & church views was so lovely! The apartment has everything you could need. Well equipped kitchen, bbq, air con, off road parking & very clean. Ilona is the perfect host! Great communication & on hand without being intrusive. We will definitely return!

WiFi was patchy.

Great location, very quiet, so no disturbance from the surroundings. 10 minutes walk to the centre of Altea old town. Spacious for 2 people (we stayed there as a couple). Free parking on the road but also if desired on site. Lovey outdoor space and great views. Ilona was a good host too!

Everything 😁 The views of the Med and the mountains from this hill top location were breathtaking. This property is furnished to an extremely high standard and full of little quirks. Every last detail had been thought about. Short stroll to the local square, full of classy shops and quaint bars and restaurants. Host Ilona, was on hand to help us through our stay. Wonderful.

What a find in beautiful Altea...the view of the mountains / coast from the garden / pool area is fantastic. The pool is ideal for families, private and with a well maintained garden / patio area. Perfect amount of seating & outdoor BBQ provided around the pool so one can sit out and enjoy the sun or remain in the shade. The villa is spotless, beds are comfortable & crucially in air conditioned bedrooms. This beautiful villa is within walking distance (~5-10 minutes) of Altea's charming old town, with plenty of great shops / restaurants and promenade along the beach area. Ilona is a great host and makes sure all guests are well looked after.

My husband and I have just returned from our holiday at The Villa Las Palmeras in Altea. The Villa surpassed our expectations. What more could you want, excellent internal accommodation along with fantastic outside pool and beautiful surrounding garden area and fabulous furnishings. I would highly recommended this property to anyone looking for quality holiday accommodation and a huge thank you to Ilona who was always there for any assistance and who made us feel extremely welcome with all the little extras she did for us. Ten out of ten.

This an exceptional property with an exceptional host. We stayed for 21 days and the property has everything available for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The property is near to a supermarket (shopping trolley is provided) and is only at most a 10 minute walk to the main square of Altea. We did not hire a car, but found many walks from the property either through the orange fields or through Altea, with the beach at most a 15 to 20 minute walk away. Buses and tram (train) are also easily available and cheap to use. As stated Ilona is an exceptional host and answered all our pre-visit questions and was very attentive to any questions while we were there.
