Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

A quiet peaceful oasis, with beautiful garden and pool and the villa had lots of character. Our room was bijou, but exceptionally clean and we had all we needed including the all important kettle. Breakfast was simple but lovely, and staff very friendly. I would certainly go back!

NetherlandsTip: make check in more efficient, online or self check in. It took us more than an hour. There was no line, just inefficient as staff is also responsible for breakfast so she kept walking away to prep food and drinks for other guests. Tip: clean the pool, it's beautiful but currently dirty. We were here for 8 nights and have not seen a clean pool. Tip: bikes are not free, change this on the advertisment because it states differently there. Also bikes are not electronic when we did pay for them and asked for electronic ones it turned out you pay 14 euro per bike per day for normal onces, who are not of good kwality. (we returned them after using them 30 min) paying for a full day. Previous time we stayed here the bikes where included in the hotel price. Tip: get proper wifi. It did not work for 7 days. Then a wifi with poor reception that hardly works. I would recommend this hotel but they need to work on a couple or things. Enjoy your holiday here!
First some love, then some pointers for improvement. Why we love this hotel: This the second time we are here. Great quite location, walking distance from beach and city. Charming hotel, nice looking rooms. They have a fridge where you can take something out as you please (and pay for at checkout)

SwitzerlandWe were a bit surprised that the rooms itself are pretty basic. Maybe we had too high expectations when seeing the building itself.
Very nice building and relaxing suburb to be. Buses to Malaga city center are within 10 min walk and are running frequently. We had a very nice and big balcony which made the stay perfect. With only 7 rooms it felt very familiar.

DenmarkThe rooms held against the price you pay are little bit small in my opinion.
Very friendly staff and beautiful hotel and garden. It’s just wonderful to sit on your own balcony and listen to the birds. It’s a little bit outside the main city but it’s really easy to go to the the centre with a bus which drives quite frequently. Don’t worry about the distance 😊 There are a couple of groceries in the neighbourhood and if you go to the beach you can find restaurants too.

IrelandFound the breakfast and reception areas quite cold in February as the front door was left open all the time. It was about 30 mins walk to the old city and the port area, where we ate most evenings. The hotel staff ordered taxis for us. would have preferred to be nearer the centre.
We had a very large apartment at the top of the building which was comfortable. We were there in February so had to use the heating. Great shower and bathroom facilities but bathroom itself had a damp feel to it.

SwedenIt is an old stonehouse so you could hear the other guests quite well from the room when they were in the corridor, but as it is only 7 rooms we were not disturbed by it.
When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by José, this wonderful person, that made the stay at Villa Lorena so worth it. He gave us tips of restaurants, served us great cappuchinos in the mornings and was so very friendly. The room was nice and clean, nice comfortable beds and they had a small, but great breakfast. The hotel is situated in a quiet neigboorhood about av 30 minute walk from the city. The buses is a few minutes walk from the hotel and goes all the time. One day we rented bikes at the hotel and went to Pedregalejo and El Palo - a very nice tour. So I can really recommend this hotel if you like to have some calm sorroundings.

United KingdomWe found no fault at all.
WE LOVED EVERYTHING..... Jose, Naomi and Claudia are an amazing team. Such kind and personable people who make this place so wonderful. The location is definitely peaceful and very leafy. Not a sign of any typical tourism in the area and the hotel is a beautiful building. Room 7 is where we stayed and it is truly fantastic with so much space. The superking bed was so comfortable with great pillows which is such a bonus. The shower is just perfect, a bathtub too if needed. There are supermarkets within a ten minute walk. The beach is ten minutes away. Malaga centre is half an hour steady stroll alongside the beach and sea. Jose told us that his favourite museum is the Museum of Malaga. We visited after his recommendation and it is really fabulous. Only Eur1.50 to get in too. There is a cellar area with a kitchen, TV and comfortable seating so we watched Netflix down there. No smart TV in the rooms. The outside area is perfectly adequate with comfortable loungers and you can get the sun all day long. Everything was really clean and the cleaning staff were as friendly as the reception team. All other residents were also full of praise for this stunning hotel. Breakfast was perfectly adequate with Jose's scrambled eggs and bacon so delicious. Coffee machine in the room with plenty of coffee capsules. We had a late flight home but we were encouraged to stay after check in and use all the hotel facilities until our departure. We will be back every time we visit Malaga. If we could score this higher than a 10/10 we would do.

NorwayIt was uncomfortable to sleep on single beds. On our first night in the hotel, we found a silver bug in our bed, despite the fact that the hotel appears to be clean. When we used the AC/heater the room smelled like sewage. A better breakfast would be appreciated. There was a limited selection of breakfast options. Breakfast was mostly cold except for three days out of seven when they cooked eggs and bacon.
We had a two-room apartment on the 4th floor. This small hotel is located in a quiet and green area, which is only 25 minutes walk from Malaga's old city center. The staff was nice and helpful.

Taxi driver to airport took long way via motorway early Sunday morning when town route would have been quick & cheap - suggest have a link to a reputable taxi driver who doesn't rip tourists off
