Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomKitchen was poorly equipped, old low quality cutlery and utensils, broken bottle opener etc. Glasses all limescaley from a dishwasher not doing its job properly. Air-con is a problem, only one unit in the villa placed in a corridor between bedrooms, almost no point in it being there as only cools the corridor and none of the other rooms so very hot at night.
It was great to have our own private space away from everything. Quiet and relaxed, and fantastic to have our own pool too, the kids loved it! Plenty of space in the villa for a family of 4, nice living space/dining space for day time.

GermanyExcept the pool, most things were not good. - When we booked the place, it said air conditioned and yes there was one but in the passage between the 2 rooms. How does that help anyone?? Are we expe ted to sleep with our rooms open or in the passage itself? Secondly they controlled the air conditioning remotely and it auto adjusted to 25 degrees and would go off every 30 mins. Apparently its our job to stay up at night and keep turning it on. We complained about it so they set it to 23 but it still went off every 1 hour. - For a place which is so hot and only a namesake air conditioning, there were no fans. One tiny fan lay there which didn't work. After complaining we got 2 fans after 2 days. But we literally couldn't sleep the whole time we were there because it was so hot. - The bathrooms had showers I don't know from which era. The water would decrease and then suddenly increase so much making everything wet. The bathroom in the room had a really bad shower design which would get the entire bathroom wet. It became like a daily task to wipe the bathroom clean after a shower. Moreover the shower always clogged, which was strange if the house had been cleaned before our arrival since it happened from day one. - I couldn't understand why they were stingy with basic supplies that we would find in other properties. There were 4 rolls of toilet papers for 4 people for 5 days. There was also only 2 dishwasher tabs and 2 dustbin bags. What were they expecting that we would run away with this if they left more dustbin bags there?? - Kitchen with 0 supplies. Normally villas at least have salt, oil etc. so that guests don't have to buy these items for a few nights but they didn't have ANYTHING. We literally had to do a whole round of grocery shopping for things like these which I've never done before. We left these things behind, hope they leave it for the next guest at least.
