Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA kettle would have been useful
Good value self-catering accommodation a short walk from the centre of Inari. Well heated (including underfloor heating in the bathroom which was a nice touch) with tiny kitchenette for making your own meals. Peaceful despite there being 10 cabins together in the area. Even saw a reindeer wandering past the window on occasion

The place was cozy and perfect for my partner and I. The floors were a bit chilly but the heaters kept the cabin itself very toasty. Bathroom was tiny but didn't really have issues with it. It would be great to have a kettle there, as others have mentioned.

Switzerland- The door of the hut were impossible to lock, the locker somehow didn't work or we perhaps didn't understood the system - The furniture dispositions inside the hut are a bit unpractical - Some shelves and more hooks to hang/store clothes would be handy - The sizes of the saucepans and lids didn't match
- Simple check in/out without receptionist, clear instructions - Perfect location for Inari - Price - Private bathroom and kitchenette - The colours of the huts - Quiet place, inside woods

RomaniaMatress was too soft. A key card was misprogrammed and I couldn't get in so I had to contact reception and wait for a replacement. TV didn't work. They offer a 2 euro discount on cruise (same ownerahip) but ticket guy on boat didn't know about it. He agreed only after I showed him the message with offer. Cabin guessts should take garbage out to container, return key to receptiion which is 1.2 km away..
Clean space. Staff were very responsive. Cliose to Siida museum and nature trail to wildeeness church. Good breakfast for additional 10 euros. Had kitchenette. Clear self check in instructions. Quiet, curtains block light at night.

BelgiumThe check-in was far too complicated. I was asked to check-in online which I did. But when having to put in my card details, it didn't accept any of my 3 cards, so I couldn't finalise the online check-in. Since we already had paid, we thought it would be ok to go straight to the cabins and get our key. But ones there and when we opened the key box (as explained in the instructions), it was empty. I called the number in the mail 3 times, but no reply. I mailed, no reply. There was no other explanation and we didn't know what to do. It was getting very frustrating when we finally thought about looking up the head office on the internet. We did and found it. We got in the car, and once at the head office we got to check-in the old fashion (and better) way. But the woman who checked us in was totally indifferent when I explained how unpractical the check-in was and we had to find ourselves the address for the head office. We were very tired after a long day in the car and just wanted to settle down and rest, but we didn't even get an apology.
The cabins are small but has everything you need. Dogs are welcome. It's close to nature.

ChileThe bathroom was badly designed since the shower is merged with the rest of the bathroom, but since it was small, everytime I took a shower, the whole bathroom was completely wet
Perfect and quiet place near the town at a good price.

GermanyWe loved out stay, so there's nothing really big that we didn't like! There was no water cooker in the kitchenette, so we had to boil water for tea in a pot with no matching cover, but that's about it. Also, night stands and/or night lamps would be great, and generally some more storage like shelves or so would have been awesome.
We loved the location - near the lake, surrounded by beautiful trees. Supermarket, bar, restaurant, everything is within 15 min on foot. Maybe 30 mins to the reindeer farm. We found it a much better stay than in a hotel. The cabin is well heated that you don't need layers of clothing inside (the floor is too cold to walk barefoot though, bring ). The bathroom/shower had good ventilation and dried really well. And there was always hot water. Someone wrote in the reviews that the toilet gets wet when you shower, but we never had this problem, the shower curtain covered everything very well. The cabin had a blow dryer, even though there was none in the description. Apart from that, it has a cooking surface, a fridge and a coffee maker. We never met the staff, but they were very responsive and helpful here on Booking and via phone. The self check-in and check-out went smoothly. The shuttle bus we booked brought us to the door of our cabin and then picked us up there to go to the airport.

AustraliaSuch a beautiful and serene location. Peaceful and quiet, surrounded by trees and covered in snow. The facilities in the cabin were great - all the things we needed to make our own food (and coffee) and the wee porch was perfect for sitting on with a coffee and watching the snow fall. The bathroom floor was heated which was a nice little surprise. The beds were cosy and the wifi was great. The discounted buffet brekkie at the hotel was also a nice little extra.

ItalyI travelled in February and even with the heat pumping it was absolutely freezing in the cabin. I needed both comforters and wool blankets to sleep. The beds, set up as two singles, were also quite small — barely enough room to turn over in your sleep.
The location is great, close to the Wilderness Church trail and Siida Sámi Museum. You can walk to most sites in the village from the cabins. The shower was also steamy, which was a lifesaver!
