How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Hotel is quite far away from bus station . I was told by hotel staff to walk few minutes. But the truth is , under snow with 2 luggage, really exhaust to walk uphill and sweat even it was minus 2 degree. Really an unforgettable experience. Hope there should be shuttle bus from Santa Claus village
Room is great, large window to see aurora. In suite sauna is also great.

The temperature in cottage was too high. Even with climate control on wall it was still difficult to get the temperature right. Price was high for the level of accommodation. Not a true 5 star hotel.
The cottage was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a good variety of food available including Gluten Free options. The sauna in the cottage was a real treat. Hotel located right in Santa Village so many activities were close by. Staff very friendly and helpful.

What a great place to stay when visiting Rovaniemi. Its behind the Santa Claus Village which is very touristy but the hotel feels private and quiet. The rooms were fantastic. With a big window facing north west, giving it a romantic touch. Our room came with a great bed and bathroom which had a private sauna.

Incredibly well designed, stunning property. Absolutely unmatched design and interiors. The rooms are comfortable , clean and views are gorgeous. Nice staff and really good breakfast too. Loved the property so much, we felt bad for staying just one night.

Bathroom was on the lower level than the bedroom. I use the restroom at two times in the night .. so found it annoying going downstairs..

There is nothing we didn't like.
The hotel is in Santa Clause Village, location is perfect. You can visit all village and join many activities and you can go back to hotel by walking. Rooms are fantastic with private sauna. Large and very comfy. You should have dinner in the restaurant, really good dishes and friendly staff. Breakfast has so many options including gluten free.

the lights from surrounding attractions were gaudy and contributed quite a bit to light pollution
the room was perfect, restaurant food delicious, there is even a communal fireplace with wood readily chopped for us to build a bomfire

Nothing to complain, one of the best hotels I've stayed in.
Location was perfect, near the Santa Claus village, not far from city center, near the airport but you dont hear the noises from the planes. Food was amazing, as was the room.

Breakfast selection was small in relation to the room rate. The light in the staircase was activated by a sensor and went on/off during the night everyone went close. This was a little annoying. Maybe a switch would be the better option. There was no writing desk in the room.
Room is cosy and quiet. The surroundings are beautiful.

Getting around was somewhat expensive. But not a deterrent to returning. Maybe there could be a shuttle operated by Nova Skyland?
This place, everything about it, the staff, the room, the amenities, things to do, was spectacular. I never imagined a place so beautiful.

It’s wonderful to have the big living room and kitchen in the house. We all love the stove in the living room and the backyard where kids could make a snowman. The location is great, very close to snowman world and Santa’s village.
