How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Great location, right next to a mall and in the centre of town. Room was lovely. Had a bath tub which was a real bonus!

Shower cubicle could have been better, but that's about it. Otherwise it is a good sized bathroom.
Location here is the king. Located centrally with easy access to plenty of Cafes, Restaurants, Shopping centers and Railway station and other public transports. Taking a train to/from the central station and airport is convenient, fast and cheap. Rooms are big enough with standard amenities to make your stay comfortable. Value for money!

The staff in the front desk wasn't very helpful and let us wait although there wasn't any other clients.
Clean and comfortable hotel in the city center. I attended a gig in the Culture House, and the tram stop located very conveniently just in front of the hotel. Quiet and spacious room. The breakfast was very good too.

The price is high compared with other city-centre hotels. I didn't mind paying for one night because I had an early bus the following morning, but made other arrangements for the way back because I was able to get a room for not much more than half the price slightly further from the stations. The shower had rather a feeble flow and wasn't in a proper cabinet - touchingly, they had provided a little mop for the puddle that resulted! But the bathroom didn't look four-star at all, though very clean.
This isn't the most picturesque part of Helsinki (in a cluster of standard-issue black glass shopping centres), but is excellent for transport -- a couple of minutes from the bus station and around five from the railway station. The hotel rooms are a decent size and in an attractive, Finnish-functional style. There is a nice sauna in the basement (or rather two, men and women separately) at no extra charge and without booking (often in Finnish hotels, you have to book in advance and pay extra). The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming.

Room temperature was slighly below comfortable, and the restaurant didn’t provide dinners till 17:00 — not an issue, but a thing to consider if you want to have a traditional meal, given there are mostly Asian foods and burgers around. :)
Extra helpful staff — both night and day shifts. Thank you so much. Also, a great location, great sauna in the room and a good view over Helsinki centre.

Nothing to complain about whatsoever.
We were happy with all about this hotel. A little bit of a walk to the main strip and harbour but we didnt mind this. We were happy with everything else about the hotel, room, breakfast and comfort. Also within walking distance to plenty of good restaurants.

It seems that designers didn't test their design in the "Queen" room. Thick luxurious curtains have a gap between the wall and the window, so the light from outside shines all the night direct on the pillow. Towels hang too low, so they partially lie on the washbasin's countertop. Also there were no slippers in the room, you need to go down to reception and buy them for ~5 euro. There is minibar in the room, but no kettle to cook water, no tea or coffee. So it was bad price/quality (convenience) ratio.
Very good location in the center, near the bus station (but you need to go around the corner to get to the central square). Nice people at reception. Very clean and spacious room. Good breakfast, 2 sorts of porrige, berries, vegetables, tasty sea buckthorn juice. But where are grilled tomatoes?

Rooms already feel overused and slightly deteriorated. Smell in the bathroom, some loose furniture.
Interior Design. Scandinavian style, everything well considered. Very good breakfast. Needs a bit of maintenance, but apart from that a great place.

I just wish there was at least a kettle in the room just to make a coffee in the afternoon for example.
the location of the hotel is literally in the heart of Helsinki. made my visit of the city so easy and I really enjoyed my stay also thanks to that. the room was clean and the breakfast had many options and it was also really tasty.

It was quite loud around the hotel, the internet wasn't working very well at moments, the parking was expensive.
The rooms were simply, but nicely designed, the location is very centrical, the breakfest was really good and tasty.

This and that needed attention; elevator buttons not responding, toilet didn't stop running, door stuck, etc. Nothing dramatic, but annoying.
Fantastic location. Very friendly staff. Clean, with everything we needed on site. We were very happy with our choice of the hotel in general.
