Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSadly poor breakfast and we did not have this as a result. Most items at 8am were empty with poor choice
Great place to stay, amazing grounds and the building is stunning, very grand. Good parking and we paid 10euros to park securely in the court yard. This was worth it as we knew our car was totally secure.

Netherlandsthe Breakfast, is overrate. I mean who will pay 15€ for nothing. I would really like to see something more out of the money I paid. I was in hurry to leave otherwise I would have surely spoken with the manager. my recommendation: go to a "Boulangerie" near by.
The location was perfect for me. its a good to see that even if its a old building but well maintained. The hotel has multiple flyers for tourists to travel around the city and maybe even the province. The hotel in built within a Abbey (assuming it means castle) and its very visible.

United KingdomThere was a damp/drainy smell near the rooms. I think it was a problem outside too, so probably not the fault of the hotel.
Breakfast in the big hall was lovely. The paintings and the views of the garden were captivating. We loved having a look around the corridors and into the old church.

United KingdomAlthough there was a small kitchenette with a 2 ring hob in the room, there was no equipment or crockery provided, so not useful but the fridge was in good condition
A unusual place to stay and great to be able to wander around the Abbey at any time. Lovely location by the river and easy walk to nearby facilities. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Great size room with a good tv, fridge and seating. We enjoyed a good breakfast in one of the amazing rooms, at a reasonable price.

United KingdomOur room had no air con. and even with fans was very hot so sleep was not great (we did have one of the smallest rooms so other more expensive rooms may have been better equipped) The breakfast was very poor. Expensive for what it was and not really to the standard befitting such a hotel. We were very disappointed. For the money paid we could have had a far better meal elsewhere. And a view! I was surprised that given the location there was no where to buy a drink and enjoy the grounds/view. It seems as if they are almost 90% focused on weddings/events etc rather than the hotel guests. A real shame as so much opportunity here to enhance the experience of guests without investing or changing much at all.
The building and location amazing. Staff friendly and helpful. .

The building is amazing. 18th century with generous proportions. The hotel is located in one wing of the abbey. Other parts are used for community purposes. Our room was quite small but very neat. It was quiet- the perfect retreat.

United KingdomIt was extremely hot when we travelled and stayed at the abbey so our room was very warm. There was no aircon but a fan was provided, which helped.
Unique stay in an Amazing place that’s full of history. Loved the gardens. Our room was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed, even little fridge. We travelled by car and could park just outside the abbey. Location is great, there are shops and restaurants just few mins away. Staff’s just great :)

Good location, parking space, large rooms, very friendly and helpful personnel ( English speaking), wonderful building, lovely garden. The best coffee (extremely cheap) in the lobby machine. We felt welcome and free to explore the building and church, even at night. No "forbidden" signs.
